Zhang's pov
My head was a mess and that's why I decided to go somewhere alone. I called wuxie but he didn't pick up my phone. I don't understand his attitude. Why bother to confess when he doesn't want me. There was nothing in my mind but now all those hidden desires were piling up before me. That's why I need a change. But little I knew it was a mistake.
Everything happened in a flash and even before I could resist some kind of drug was injected into me. It wasn't a drug to make me unconscious but weak. In a split of seconds, my legs, arms, tongue all were numb. They dragged me into the van. I had my bag with me and they searched for something in it. One of them took my phone and switched it off. I could only watch all this. I was scared.
After sometimes the effect of the drug seemed to lessen. I looked out to see any landmark. Thankfully it was a place I knew. The recognized windwheel immediately. The next destination was the forest a bit far from the windmill. I remember coming here, but unlike me, they took a route where the Van could pass, and after some time van stopped. They carried me out of the van. Surprisingly that building felt so familiar.
It's that mansion in the woods. But why here?
I couldn't think of any possible reason for me being kidnapped. The only time I came here was to take photos.
Is it because of that? This place maybe some kind of lair of criminals.
They throw me to the ground. And in front of me were two men, one in a black suit and another wearing a long brown coat outside. Both of them and their men were unfamiliar to me. I tried to ask them but I could lift my tongue.
"Tsk..No use in trying, there is still time for the drug to be ineffective. Now you can only move your arms and legs."
That person in the suit was laughing at me. Then one of the men told him something in his ears. He came near to me. Clamping my neck, he asked me;"Whom do you work for?"
He knows I can't speak but still, he tried to take out his anger on me. I had no choice to accept the heavy blow of his fists.
"Where are the photos you took. Whom did you give it to?"
Photos? Then only I realized that they are referring to the time I took the photos of this mansion. But I didn't show it to anybody or I did realize it was a hideout. Then why must they attack me? It's all a misunderstanding.
"Boss, I think he still didn't leak the information. It's been so long and no one came here."
"But that doesn't mean we should let him be. We must retrieve the photos."
He gave orders to his men. They tied me to a chair leaving my arms free because it was of no use. They pulled a table in front of me and put my camera, cards, and laptop on it.
"The photos. We want to see it."
The man grabbed the back of my neck and shoved to towards the table. It was painful and I couldn't resist. My hands were movable as of now and I lifted my left hand and pointed at my laptop. They opened my laptop. It was password protected. They had no choice but to wait for me to gain my consciousness back.
I may have slept for two or more hours. It was already dark outside when I woke up. I tried to stand up on my feet. My muscles still feel the pain but I could stand on my feet but then I noticed that my feet were tied with iron chains. I looked around. It seems like a cellar. There was nothing and it seemed like they cleared the entire place. The clattering sound may have alerted them. The two men came again to the room. I wanted to fight but I know it won't be of any good.
"The photos."
"I don't know which one you are referring to. If it is about this mansion, I happen to see this on my trip. I'm just a traveling photographer And only took one or two from the hill. I don't anything else about this place or you."
"Boss he seems to say the truth."
"Does that matter as he is here already?"
"Oh yes. Then what are planning to do with him?"
"If he is saying the truth, his things and he doesn't have any value for us. Let's check it first. If there is anything thats leads to our business here..."
Both of them were talking about what to do to me. I know they won't let me live just like that. They were giving me death stares. One of his minions come forward and put the laptop in front of me. I unlocked it and opened the folder I save my clicks. I showed them to those men.
"Just this."
"You check his mails too... Just in case."
"I'm telling the truth."
They were not ready to believe me.
"Boss there is nothing else. Just those two photos."
"Okay. Is everything clear? We are leaving right away."
"What about him."
"Him? Haha... Give him another shot we are leaving him behind."
"Just that."
"Do you think he can escape from here? Even he managed to escape he won't be a threat to us. He is clueless about what's happening here."
"Oh. Thats right. Then you give him a shot."
People were surrounding me and even before I knew someone from back injected me with that drug again. I struggled a bit which made some of the portions go to waste and the needle pierced through my skin making me bleed. I dropped to the ground in that pain. I felt dizzy, I only could hear the footsteps go away. I looked at the table and saw they left behind my things too. If I get trapped here, I will die. I won't be able to get out on my own. My legs were started getting numb. Maybe because some of the drugs didn't go inside my body, the effect was a bit slow.
"I have to do something quickly."
I dragged myself to the table and supporting my weight to it I switched on my laptop again. There was still Internet reception. Maybe those people are out there. My hands started feeling numb and my eyes were gradually getting blurry. I opened my mail. The only ID I could remember now was of his, I attached those pictures I took along the way. I wanted to write clearly but my hand almost gave up. All I could type was the three clapping hands emoji before I black out.
" Wuxie, find me."
