11 - Find Her

"It.. it was a code we had when we were like 13. We were friends first, and we talked about how we were gonna move to Florida when we were 18 to get away from our crappy parents." Emily explained, her mind still spinning.

"Emily what's does Felix do?" Garcia asks.

"He's a cop, he's the one who came in her a while ago." Emily responded.

"My records show he has never had a job in his life." Garcia put up the information she had found on the tv screen.

"That's not right, he's been able to move around really quickly. Are you sure?"

"I can check again. Do you think he could be using a different name?" Penelope asks while double checking the possibility of Felix's jobs.

"Maybe, I have no clue what it could be though."

"The uniform he had on was official. He couldn't have gotten that of he wasn't an actual cop." JJ adds in.

"He's been getting large amounts of money every month for .. years. I think I figured out why he hasn't needed a job." Penelope points to the bank statements up on the screen.

Emily walks over to the tv screen, "his parents are as rich as my mother is. This is probably trust fund money and more that they've given him."

"Oh"

"What's wrong Pen?" JJ asks.

"Not the case, this computer is just acting up. I'm going to go to my cave, do you know what car he drives?" Emily nods her head no, "ok I'll try to see if I can find and track it."

Emily slumps down onto a chair, placing her elbows on the table and dropping her head in her hands. JJ pull the chair next to Emily out and sits next to her, placing a hand on her shoulder blade.

"We'll find her, Em" JJ said.

"He warned me, at the park yesterday. I said no, this.. it's all my fault." Emily said slightly raising her head.

"Hey. Don't do that. Don't blame yourself." She said.

"Please don't talk to me like a family member of a victim. I can hear it in your voice JJ"

"Sorry", JJ gets up and closes the two doors leading to the room and shuts the blinds so no one can see inside, she sits back down and turns Emily's chair towards hers, "what did he say?"

"What do you mean?"

"Yesterday at the park, you said he warned you. About what?" JJ prompted.

"He said that I need to go with him, get a new job and that he would leave her alone if I did." Emily retold what Felix had said to her.

"You weren't folding laundry yesterday on the phone, you were packing a bag" JJ said, making the connection, "Emily, you should have told me"

"I didn't want to out right say it incase he was listening somehow. I was going to leave later today, make it so you guys would figure it out, I was going to stay with him until I could convince him to leave us alone." Emily explained.

"Well he sees Kai as his daughter, he won't hurt her." JJ says.

"He will if needed. He .. I've been thinking about all the times he came back after what he said to me in the hallway outside your door."

"What'd he say?" JJ asks, grabbing onto Emily's hands, sensing the hurt in her voice.

"He always made me think that he was coming back for her..." Emily said, choking up at the thought of what could be happening to Kai.

"But he was really coming for you" JJ finishes her sentence. Emily lowers her head trying her best to fight back her tears. JJ places her hands under Emily's chin, raising her face back up. She looked at JJ with watery eyes.

"Em" JJ whispered, leaning forward and pulling Emily towards her, wrapping her arms around her. Emily falls onto JJ's grasp, laying her head on her shoulder, finally letting out the tears she was holding back. JJ raised a hand to the back of Emily's head, slowly stroking her hair.

JJ pulls back away, taking Emily's face in her hands again.

"We will catch him. Ok?" She said, wiping Emily's tears with her thumbs.

"Emily! JJ!" Garcia said as she quickly opened the door and walked in, they quickly push apart from each other. Garcia sees Emily's tear filled eyes and looks to JJ if she should continue, JJ nods.

"Matt called me, they found Kai's car with the door open. There was a note inside. Spencer's decoding it on their way back. And the only car that traces to him is a rental, but he returned it yesterday around noon, so I don't know how he is getting around." Garcia reports.

Emily nods, wiping her tears, she gets up and walks to her office. Not saying a word. JJ and Penelope watch her silently, turning back to each other as her office door closes.

"She's holding up better than I expected." Garcia admitted, having expected Emily to be a lot more distraught.

"Motherly instinct" JJ states.

"Yep"

"Spencer, anything?" Matt asks as he and Spencer make their way up to the round table room.

"No", he sits down and continues to try and crack it. Garcia runs it through her computers in hopes that they can find something.

Emily rushes back into the room, she places a sheet of paper next to Spencer.

"It took me a second to remember it, but Felix and I had a cypher so we could talk through.. it doesn't matter. Use that." Emily said, not wanting to explain how she used to use the cypher to mess with her mother and Felix's parents staff and official papers.

Spencer quickly relays the message.

Emily, JJ and Matt walked out to get suited up. Garcia called Luke and Tara to meet the other three agents at the address.

"What the hell are you trying to achieve!?" Kai yells, sitting in a wooden chair, tied down.

"Everything was perfect with Emily until you showed up" Felix spit, jerking his gun at her face.

"I didn't show up, you are literally part reason I'm alive" Kai said annoyed more than scared, knowing her mother will save her.

"And I will we the reason you're dead. Now SHUT UP" he yells, getting out of his chair and passing around the room.

"What the hell are you waiting for. We are in an old abandoned house, there is absolutely no way mom will find you, you know"

"Don't you dare call her that. She's not yours she's mine"

"She's not anyone's, she's her own person!" Kai retorts.

Felix hears a car drive up and pears out of the window. Emily.
