12 - Safe

He rushes over to Kai, untying her and pulling her up to stand while holding his gun to her head.

"Run and I'll shoot you" he says.

"FELIX!" he hears Emily call out from behind the door, "IF YOU'RE IN THERE I NEED YOU TO OPEN THE DOOR."

Emily turns and quietly tells Matt, Tara and Luke to head a couple houses down.

"What?" Luke doubts.

"I have a plan, please just do it" they nodded and walked off, and into one of the two SUVs.

"FELIX, LET ME IN!" Emily called again, she waited a minute before kicking open the door. She and JJ walked into the open room, guns drawn.

"Em" Felix said, gun still glued to Kai's head. She stares at her mother.

"Felix, I'm sorry. I was trying to do everything discreetly." Emily begins to explain, JJ has not idea what she's planning but trusts her process. She knows Felix best.

"You said no!"

"I said no because if I said yes they'd know. Kai would know, she'd find me. Find us. You want to hear what my plan was Felix, do you?"

He nodded.

"I moved here, to Virginia, because I knew it would be easy for you to find me. I became Unit Chief so it would be easier for you. I pretended to hate you so I could trick JJ" Emily signals to JJ standing next to her, she looks over at her and begons to lower her gun, "I gained her trust, tricked her into thinking that I liked her."

"What?" JJ played along.

"Sorry" Emily said cynically, "Felix it was always you. I also had to pretend like I cared about her, god Felix you don't know how bad these last 18 years have been. But she's an adult, we don't have to deal with the mistake anymore" Emily continued, trying her best to sound convincing while saying things she'd never say.

"So let's get rid of her, we can live happily then"

"Felix, if you hurt her I won't be able to stop JJ from arresting you. We won't get our perfect life, you'd go to jail. Over what her, let her go. She knows not to mess with us, but don't waste your life on her."

Felix let go of Kai, pushing her forward causing her to fall to the ground. Emily handed her gun over to JJ.

"Tell the FBI I quit" she said, she walked over to Felix. She grabbed his hand, he placed his gun back in his holster, "and my last order as your chief is to let us go"

JJ nodded, Felix and Emily made there was through the back door. JJ rushed to Kai's side, hooking her gun in her holster.

"Are you hurt?" She asks.

"How can you just let them go!" Kai yells, ready to chase after her mother.

"Kai, no. She has a plan."

"She had a plan yesterday too. Next thing I know I'm being kidnapped. WAS THAT PART OF HER PLAN. THINGS CHANGE JJ" Kai yells, tearing up.

"Hey," JJ says sweetly, pulling the girl who was a spitting image of her mother into a hug, "let's get you out of here". She guides Kai out of the house.

"I have a car, back here" Felix said.

"Where are we going" Emily asks enthusiastically.

"I don't know yet." Felix said as the approach the hidden car. Old, no plates, no wonder Garcia couldn't find it.

"How 'bout we just drive? Can I?" Emily asks.

Felix tosses her the eyes and runs to the passenger side. She starts the car and drives towards where Matt, Luke and Tara are set up.

The car stops, "what happened?" Felix asked.

"I don't know, it just stopped." Emily said looking around the wheel as if she didn't just turn of the engine. "How olds the car?"

"Uh-"

"Don't think that matter now" Matt said, holding a gun through the window of the car. Felix reaches for his gun but Emily beats him to it. Grabbing it and pointing it at him.

"Hey, just want to make sure. You do know everything Emily said, it was a lie right. She doesn't actually think you're a mistake or anything" JJ asks Kai in the elevator up to the BAU.

"I know, I'm guessing that's just what Felix need to hear?"

"Yeah pretty much."

"I guess that also means I was right" Kai says, as the doors open and they walk up to the glass doors.

"About what?"

"You two" she says quietly as they walk into the round table room where Rossi, Spencer and Penelope are waiting.

"Oh oh, you're ok." Penelope says, getting up and walking over pulling Kai into a hug.

Tara walls into the room shortly after.

"Where's my mom?" Kai asks, sitting on one of the chairs around the table.

"She's questioning Felix about some things that didn't add up in the investigation." Tara explains. Kai nods, glad to know her mom is safe.

"How? How Felix, how'd you find us so quickly after we would move. Where does all your money come from, you've never had a job, let alone faking being a cop. I mean you loved playing dress up but that's far." Emily says.

"How many years would I get for kidnapping a FBI agents kid?"

"I asked first."

"Oh Em, sweetie. We aren't kids anymore that doesn't work anymore. You want me to talk, then you'll answer my question"

"20 maybe more"

"And if I had killed her?"

"Life, death penalty of I tried hard enough. Which I would have." Emily threatens

"And what is it wasn't a kid of the FBI but an acquaintance of one. Maybe 3 years ago, for say." Felix teased.

Emily stands up, ready to tear Felix apart. She walks through to see Rossi and Matt outside of the interrogation room.

"What's he talking about, Emily" Rossi asks.

"I can't go back in there, he um.. I think he killed or got someone to kill Bailey Stephens. Can you please get a confession, I .. I need to go" Emily said, running into the hall to be met with JJ who was walking to the interrogation room.

"What's wrong" JJ said as she watched Emily continue down the hall to the bathroom. She followed. Emily pushed open a stall, doubling over and throwing up. JJ runs to her side, rubbing her back and ensuring her ponytail doesn't get in her way.

Emily slumps next to the toilet, flushing it. She curls her legs in. JJ joins her on the ground.
