Chapter Twenty-three

When I woke up, in the morning, Ben was gone. I went downstairs to hope to find him, but he was not there.

While I was dressing up to go to work I found the letter that Ben had left me.

At first, I wasn't sure what he meant.

After a while, I figure that Ben wanted some time by himself.

He must still be angry with me about my mistake.

The best thing I could think of was to leave Ben alone for right now.

Working is the best option for me not to panic. There was still a looming issue with The Director. I would come up with a new idea only to feel that Ben would not like my method.

I swallow green Soma to start the day.

Finally, I made it to my office and started working on my reports. Since I know that Ben may not come, I decide to take a couple of his work to help him not be too behind. After all, everyone in the office knows that The Director likes to give a hard time.

Ben may be mad with me, but I want to show that I can help somehow. Hopefully, this would help him not be mad with me anymore.

Half of the day went by and Ben never showed up.

I am starting to worry more now!

Could he be so angry at me that he doesn't show up for work?

Ben never misses work. He always makes sure to finish his work every day.

The only time he ever missed work was when he went to The Savage Land.

He couldn't have gone there again? No, I'm probably overthinking it.

"Henry, I need to talk to you in my office," said The Director through my contact len. I abruptly stop my thought process, why is Ben not at work yet?

"Please take a seat," He said to me as I came into the office.

"Yes, sir," I said as I sat on the couch.

"It has come to my attention that you and Bernard Marx have had multiple sexual intercourses," said The Director with a disappointed look.

Then, he showed me the video of Ben and me. Both of our moans could be heard in the video. I close my eyes and try to come up with a good excuse.

"Sir, it was a mistake. I got drunk and I did not know what I was doing," I said as I tried to calm down.

"It was only one time," I continue to say.

The Director zooms in to the video on Ben's face.

"This does not look like a one-time thing just look at Mr. Marx's face," The Director said as he looked at the video and then looked at me.

"You know better than having sexual intercourse with the same person can cause problems in the future. Also, alpha with alpha intercourse can get very possessive and cause harm to each other," continues The Director with a sigh.

I knew all those things but still wanted to be with Ben.

"How can I make the video go away?" I ask The Director.

"How can you make this go away?" Ask The Director slowly as he walks closer and closer towards me.

He moves my chin up and looks into my eyes.

"I can make all this go away," he said smiling.

I tried to move my face away from The director's grasp but I was not quick enough because he leaned and kissed me.

He smirks at my response as he grabs my chin to hold me in place.

I finally was able to push him away from me.

"I want you right now on the table," he said, which made me shiver in disgust.

On the other hand, if I do what he said, Ben and I will be gone. I would show Ben that I could fix my own problems and trust my lover.

He would understand, right?

The Director tried to kiss me again as he pushed me toward his desk.

"Henry, I need to talk to you," said Wilhelmina's voice through the contact len.

The Director quickly stops and moves away from me.

"We can finish this at my house tonight," I said to The Director as I headed towards the door.

He nods in response and lets me leave.

"Yes, what do you want to talk to me about?" I asked Wilhelmina through the contact len.

"I need to speak to you personally, dear," she said.

"Okay, give me about one hour to finish my work and I will go over to your house soon," I said to Wilhelmina.

I was thankful that she had helped me to stop The Director's advances.
