Chapter Eight

The tour was nice and I was enjoying the change of scenery. Not having to worry about work and Henry was freeing. I went to a newly built museum and also got to try Savage foods. Ms. Crowne looks like she is having fun in her own scientist way.

"This is the last stop of the tour. The wedding ceremony. Where we will see the bride and groom get marry... till they die," said the female tour guide with a smile. Most of the people on the yellow bus got off and went to sit down on the white bench.

I got off the bus with Ms. Crowne and watch as the bus moves back to the hotel direction with a small number of people that didn't get off. Ms. Crowne chose the seat for us and we wait to see what will happen next.

"Bernard, I will be right back. I need to go to the ladies room," said Ms. Crowne as she runs off.

I, then, see a male in a black suit at the front of the ceremony. Suddenly, I hear music playing and I see a female in a white dress walk down the strip of cloth on the ground. She almost makes it to the male that is waiting in the front, but all hell breaks loose.

Both the male and the female pull out guns and start shooting at the crowd with no mercy. Some of the Alpha try to run away but all of them get shot anyway. Ms. Crowne pulls me and starts running towards the building that is closest to us. We finally make it to the building and hide.

"What should we do?" Asks Lenina who is out of breath from running. She looks at me and I look back at her. I think for a second and then respond.

"We need to get weapons and also a car--," I wasn't able to finish because a girl points a gun to the back of my head. Both Lenina and I freeze what we are doing.

"Please don't shoot," I said pleading with the young girl.

"Shut it. I don't want to hear anything from you. Do you have any money?" demands the girl. So, I try to look like I was searching for money in my pockets just long enough for Lenina to hit the girl over the head and knock the girl unconscious.

Lenina gets the gun while I ran closer to the girl and search her to see if she had any more weapons. All I find was a small knife which I take and run back to Lenina.

"Lenina, we need a car to leave, change of clothes, and--," was the only thing I got to say because I faint.

When I woke up I notice that I was in a small car and that I was in pain. I had a big headache and my neck hurt badly. I also notices my left arm was hurting and now I was wearing a black jacket around my shoulder. I look over to Lenina who was in the driver seat.

The next thing I notice was there is a gun in the car cup holder and Lenina has on different clothing. Also, our Alpha and Beta badges were gone. I look outside the car window and see the sun going down as we move farther away for the chaotic town of The Savage Tour.

"Looks like you fainted because of the stress and the pain of the gun wound," Lenina tells me. I look down again and see that my left shoulder has blood on it.

I try to find my Somas pen but it was missing.

I don't have much time to react because a male in a motorcycle starts to get too close to the car. I look at the small window next to the car and see him pull out a gun.

Immediately I grab the gun from the cup holder before Lenina could grab it and I start to shoot at the male. One or two bullets hit the back of the car as Lenina try to change lanes.

I, on the other hand, try to hit the male, so he would stop. Suddenly, I see him fall off the motorcycle and rollover on the side of the road.

"Where are we going?" I ask as I put the gun back in the cup holder and hold my left shoulder.

"To get help," was the only thing Lenina said. We, then, continue in silence for a long while. Lenina didn't question how I knew how to use a gun and I didn't question how she got the car.
