"So, what have you been up to in New London?" asked John as he took a sip of his alcohol.

Also, I took a couple of sips of my drink before I responded back.

"Everything is disorganized," I tell John as I drink more alcohol than John had poured me.

"Enough about me. How is your mother doing?" I asked John because I was curious.

John ends up pouring himself even more alcohol.

"She passed away after everything happened. By the time I made it back it was too late," John tells me with tears in his eyes.

I put my hands on his shoulder hoping to help somehow.

"I'm sorry to hear," I tell him.

"Don't worry it's all in the past," He tells me as he looks away.

"I'm sure everything happens for a reason in the end," I continued to explain.

"Do you have parents?" Ask John as I serve him another drink. At this point, we have stopped continuing how much alcohol we had consumed.

"No, New London doesn't tell us who our parents are. My parents are just a sperm and an egg," I tell him as I lay my head on the counter of the minibar.

"Do you have a father?" I ask John.

"My mom always told me that I had one but I never saw him. She waited and waited for him to come back to her but he didn't," John tells me with a dry laugh.

"Why don't you go try to find him?" I ask him.

"The thing is that I tried before but it never worked out. His last known location was New London, but I just can't waltz right in and ask if anyone knows him," John explains with frustration to the situation.

The people of Savage Land are prohibited from going to New London because of safety concerns. I'm sure John wouldn't do anything dangerous if he were to go.

I hummed in response as I tried to think but the alcohol wasn't helping me. Then, I get an idea.

"Why don't I take you to New London to see if you can find your father?" I asked John.

"You would do that for me?" he turns to ask me.

"Of course, you and your mother help me when I need help. I'm sure I can take you to New London without any problem," I explained to John.

If it wasn't for John and his mother I would have never made it to New London again. This is the least I can do to make it up to John.

John leans closer to me and hugs me.

"Thank you so much," he says and I hug him back.

He pulls back and stares into my eyes for a second. I start noticing that we are too close to each other, so I try to pull away.

John holds me in place and leans in to kiss me. I try to move farther away from him than I could go. He ends up kissing me on the cheek.

"What are you doing?" I asked him but John's body had gone limp and all his weight was on me.

Then, he lightly snores.

I ended up moving John to the floor and I ended up going to sleep too. Sarah and Mark haven't shown up, so there wasn't much more to do than to wait till they come back.

After a couple of hours, I hear some sound coming from the entrance again.

"Great, he's not dead," said Sarah as she poke me to see if I move.

"Sarah, be careful what you say. You don't want to write a report about this when we go back to the office, do you?" Mark asks Sarah as she pushes me to the exit.

"I'm taking him with me," I said to them as I grabbed John's arm and pulled him forwards.

John wakes up with a stumble.

There were a couple of seconds that no one said anything.

"Of course, you should! You should report this personally to Merrick. I'm sure he will love the idea," said Sarah, a little too excited as we walked over to the weird car. My head was killing me, but it was bearable.

We finally made it back to the spaceport and towards Merrick's office. I could notice that Sarah was getting even more excited the closer we got.

"Let me get this right. You want to take John over to New London for a couple of days and then he will come back here," he tells me.

"Yes, I want to show him my home and the wonderful culture in New London as a thank you for saving my life and Ms. Crown's life," I told him.

"Okay," He said.

"Only this time," said Merrick as he signed a paper to let John leave for New London.

"Sir!" cries Sarah in protest.

To which Merrick just didn't pay attention at all.

John and I were ready to leave but Merrick stopped at the door.

"I need to tell you something privately," Merrick tells me as he grabs my arms.

"Could you tell me later?" I ask him as I move my arm out of his grasp.

"No, it is very important," He tells me with concern.

"Bernard, we have to go, the plane is leaving right now," John said to me.

"How about when I come back to the Savage Land then you can tell me," I asked him.

"You are coming back?" He asked skeptically.

"Yes, I need to bring back John," I tell him to reassure him.

"Okay," he tells me.

I'm sure whatever he needs to tell me could wait. I don't need any more problems right now. Giving Ms. Crown her suitcase is my top priority.

"Are you ready?" I asked John.

"It's now or never," he responded with a smile.
