CHAPTER 11

Jughead

Betty was almost done at the mall so I figured I should make sure there was enough space for her stuff in the closet. I don't have too many clothes so I took what I do have and pushed it all too one side of the walk in closet, if Cheryl was involved there was no way Betty was going to return with anything less than a car full of clothes. Cheryl is about the only vampire I actually don't mind, I wouldn't say I trust her but she is good with Toni. Next I made space in the bathroom, knowing Betty was going to need space for makeup and period products. I made the bed and by that time I heard Cheryl's shrill voice commanding Fangs and Sweet Pea while they were surely struggling trying to carry things up two flights of stairs.

"Boys be careful with those, don't break anything!" I heard her voice approaching the door so I opened it to see Sweet Pea and Fangs loaded with shopping bags. I quickly moved out of the way and they dropped everything on the bed. "Thanks for all the help Jones!" Sweets sarcastically remarked after he caught his breath, I just chuckled and turned around to find Betty and Toni sauntering into the room with a couple bags each. "Hey beautiful," I said while I went to get the bags off of Betty. "Hi love," she replied as I pulled her into a hug and held her tightly, breathing in her scent. "Ok Betty we need to unpack all your stuff, Jughead did you make space for everything?" Cheryl asked even as she opened the closet and walked in. I didn't reply and figured she would figure it out, I knew nothing I would say would stop her anyway.

They spent about an hour organizing everything while I just sat there watching them, more like watching Betty. I found the sight of her captivating; every once in a while Toni would catch me looking and would smirk at me. She was absolute perfection, I would be lying if I said I didn't want to mark her, all my instincts were telling me to do and I have to fight the urge to just rip off all her clothes; but I want her to be comfortable and that means not doing anything till she is ready. She didn't grow up here, she is not used to how things normally go and I'm ok with that. When they were just about finished Cheryl stepped back and gave an approving nod, normally non wolves would not be allowed in the pack house but because she is Toni's mate she is allowed. My dad found it cruel to try to split them up completely since the clan has a very strict no-werewolves-on-the-premises-policy so Cheryl spends a fair amount of time here.

J - Baby do you want to go on a run?

B - That sounds fun.

"Hey guys, Betty and I are going to go for a run, close the door on your way out," I said as I grabbed Betty's hand and led her out to the shifting house that was in one of the outbuildings. "So this is the shift house," I said as I led her into the small building, "each person has a cubby, you put your clothes and whatever else you have with you in there before you shift so it doesn't ruin them. Then you just shift so you don't have to walk outside naked." She chuckled before putting her phone and shoes in the empty cubby beside mine, I wrote Betty on the small whiteboard above it so her stuff wouldn't be mixed up before removing my phone, shoes, and shirt. "It is going to hurt pretty bad again, do you want me to stay?" She nodded so I went over and locked the door before removing my jeans and placing them in the cubby, leaving me in my boxers. I walked over to her and helped her fold her clothes, leaving her completely naked in front of me. She is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, I could see she was getting self conscious and wrapped her arms around herself.

I pulled her into a hug and whispered in her ear, "you're beautiful baby," I felt her smile against my neck. I loosened my grip on her so I could sit down on the floor, pulling her down and into my lap.

J - Relax baby, I'm right here.

I could feel her shaking with anxiety. All I wanted to do was take it away from her but the only way to do that is to be here while she goes through it

J - Ok, picture your feet on the ground, the breeze blowing through your hair. Now I want you to think about your feet turning into paws and the breeze is now running though your fur. Picture yourself as a wolf.

She did what I asked and I could hear her bones start to break again followed by her whimpers. I tried to calm her by stroking her hair as she slowly shifted, about 15 seconds later the whimpering ended and I looked down to see her snow white furry head in my lap. I could tell her body ached so I sat with her for a couple minutes before I moved her head off my lap. She looked up at me and watched as I walked over to my cubby but looked away when I took off my boxers and quickly shifted. I walked over to her and nuzzled her cheek with my nose to get her attention.

J - You ok baby?

B - Ya, just a little sore.

J - I know but if you get up and move around it will go away faster.

She slowly stood up and limped around for a minute or two before relief washed over her face and she seemed to be doing better. I walked over to the door and nudged the lock, letting the door sway open before I stepped out, Betty just behind me. As we stepped into the sun I felt the eyes that were on us, every one of them filled with shock. For one thing I had found my mate, the future Luna of our pack. For another Betty had a pure white coat, it wasn't really a big deal it was just interesting and not very common. Most wolves have anything from black, grey, brown, and even caramel colours. White coats are never seen down here, historically they are from snowy areas way up north which begs the question, where is Betty from? Her biological parents had to be from somewhere close to that region.

I moved on from the topic knowing it would eventually resurface if and when Betty had the desire to know.

J - You ready beautiful?

She nodded and quickly followed me as I launched into the thick woods.
