Around a month later

Betty

Today is going to be a busy day, I have my 8 week ultrasound in the morning and then a full day of wedding planning beyond that. FP wants to go over the guest list with us and inform us about the relationships we have with different packs. But I'm getting ahead of myself, first we get to see our little bean.

I have been awake for over an hour, just sitting here waiting for Jug to wake up so we can go and see doc. Around 9:00 I had finally grown impatient so I climbed on top of Jughead, straddling him and peppering kisses all over his face. I continued to do so until I felt him giggling and he placed his hands on my hips. "Goodmorning," he said, clearly still half asleep. "Morning hon, are you ready for today?" I asked excitedly, a huge smile spread across his face and he nodded. He wrapped me in his arms and held me close for a couple minutes before we headed down to breakfast. The food was fantastic as always but my excitement was keeping me from eating much; which in turn caused Jughead to get concerned and put more food on my plate, trying to get me to eat more.

After a long wait Jug finally got a link from Doc saying that he was ready for us to come in, I practically ran the entire way to the medical wing. We were shown to the room we were in last time and I hopped up on the table. "Well hello you two, how are the parents to be?" Doc asked as he entered the room. "Super excited," I replied, rolling up my shirt. He squirted the jelly on my slight bump and used the wand to find the baby. "There we go," he said, turning the screen towards us and flipping on the switch that lets us hear the heartbeat. Again the beautiful sound brought tears to our eyes while Jug kissed the back of my hand and we stared at the monitor. "From what I can see everything looks good," Doc said, "just to be safe the nurse is going to take some blood for some tests and then weigh and measure you." "Thank you Doc," Jug whispered, I was still unable to speak as I looked at our little pup. "My pleasure, your pictures will be at the front desk.

Once we picked up the pictures we made the rounds, dropping them off to everyone who wanted one. That included Toni, Cheryl, Fangs, and last but not least FP. We delivered that one last so we could just stay in the office and get some work done. "How's my grandkid?" FP asked as we walked through the door, "happy and healthy," Jug replied as we sat on the opposite side of the desk. "Good," FP let out a breath that I didn't realise he had been holding in. Over the last month everyone has been hyper aware around me. Last week I climbed onto the counter in the kitchen to get something from the top shelf, I hadn't even stood up before at least 3 people were around me trying to get me to come down.

"So," FP began, "There will be over 20 pack leaders in attendance at the wedding. Most are quite small and are on good terms with us. Our biggest rivals are the Ghoulies, they are a northern pack that always seem to be getting in our business." "Will they be a problem," I asked, concerned for the safety of the pack if we invite them onto our lands with our guard down. "They shouldn't, it would be very stupid for them to try something. They don't have many allies and we are the largest pack in the world, we could wipe them out if we needed to." FP explained. "That being said, stick with me at the wedding. I don't want to take any chances." Jug practically pleaded with me. He knows I don't like being monitored 24/7. I look at him for a couple seconds before giving in, "fine."

"Oh, I almost forgot," FP exclaimed as we were getting ready to leave, "the coven and the clan are also invited." This brought an exuberant smile to my face. I thought Cheryl, Veronica, and Kevin wouldn't be able to attend, my life couldn't get much better right now.

Jughead

Betty and I made our way back to our room, but I couldn't help but think about my dad; there is something he is hiding. I know very little about the Ghoulies, just that they have a bad reputation. The elders have done a fantastic job of hiding the history between them and the serpents, I know for a fact that the only reason they are even invited to the wedding is because to not invite them would be extremely insulting and probably start a war. This is starting to worry me, if the truth is so dangerous that it is worth hiding then how dangerous will it be when it is here in the flesh.
