Leo was noisy.
He was always whining. In the morning, at night or even as early as 2 am.
There was only one reason why, Lisa isn't home.
Despite having four cats, Leo was exceptionally the favourite. Lisa never owns up to it, and she never declares Leo as indeed the favourite one, but everyone who knows Lisa, knew about it.
And even if Leo seemed not to care about Lisa whenever she's around, it was more likely that the cat is the most anxious whenever she's not around.
"Leo, stop it." Jennie said, as Leo scratched the door. It was already almost 12 in the midnight, and Lisa isn't home yet.
She texted earlier though, that she'll be pulling in extra hours at work.
Not just earlier apparently, since they got back from the family dinner at Daegu, she was always not home.
And Jennie, currently on the third week of her break, she's getting annoyed. She was expected to be back at work next week, and she didn't even do anything memorable for her break. It was all mostly, cooking for herself and Lisa, cleaning the condo (and I mean spotless clean) like everyday, waiting for Lisa to come home, and just that.
She was happy about one thing though, she finished like six books, and her vocabulary is even nourished.
It was 12:20 when the door opened, Leo looked at his owner for a while, purring at her feet, and then heading out to sleep. This was the set up, Leo would just wait for Lisa to come home so he can sleep.
Same goes for Jennie, she would wait for Lisa to come home so she can sleep.
"Hi." Lisa said and leaned down to give Jennie a kiss, "Why did you wait for me? It's late."
"I can't sleep without you."
Lisa smiled and kissed Jennie once more before going to the kitchen to drink water, Jennie followed her, "What took you so long?"
"Work. Pulling in extra hours, it's very hectic out there." Lisa shrugged.
"You look so tired, have you eaten?"
"Uhh, yes. With my workmates."
"With who exactly?" Jennie raised a brow.
"Workmates, hon. Some other photographers, models and crew. We all ate together and —"
"Models?" Jennie asked.
"Gosh, Jennie. Don't make such a fuss about it. I'm tired, and I wanna rest." Lisa annoyingly said.
Jennie was taken back at what Lisa said. She stayed at the kitchen while Lisa went to take a shower. Jennie picked up the covered foods on the table and kept it inside the fridge. Apparently, it was their 8th month anniversary together, and Lisa seemed to forgot about it.
She didn't have dinner yet, but she lost the appetite to do so. She drank some warm milk instead before slipping to their bedroom.
Lisa was laying down, all washed up. Facing the other side as Jennie lay on her side and turned the other way as well.
Jennie didn't sleep, she was just there laying down, and thinking. Lisa was never the one who forgets about special days, so maybe she was just pretty occupied.
She eventually fell asleep soon enough, but was immediately interrupted when she heard the creak of their bedroom door open. She opened her eyes, just in time to see Lisa's figure get out of the room.
Maybe she was just thirsty, so Jennie remained lying down. But when it took Lisa long enough to go back inside, Jennie stood up and slowly walked out of the room, like she was some ninja avoiding to create any noise.
