Training

I woke up at about 12AM. I went downstairs having showered and dressed in gear. I wanted to get some training done, I was a bit out of practise and wanted to be able too keep up. I might've been working out and trying to train for the last 3 years but it's not the same as being in the training room.

I entered the training room and heard voices. They were hushed but angry, I waited at the door to listen.

"I just don't understand why you didn't tell me she was back, I looked like a blithering idiot this morning!!" said the female voice

"I meant to Rowan but it's been a bit hectic since she got back everyones been... confused"

It was Rowan and Jace! I would recognise Jace's voice anywhere. They were arguing about, me. But why? Rowan seemed so nice earlier...

"Ha, yeh, you mean you were confused!? Jace, we are together don't let her come and ruin our happiness. She won't be here for very long and then everything will be as it was before she showed up out of the blue, uninvited!"

"She showed up covered in blood and demon ichor, she needed the Instiutes help, none of this is her fault!"

"Please! How do you know she is not just orchestrating this whole thing to come back and ruin our lives like she did before. I had to act starstruck this morning because Jocelyn suggested I was and I hated it. She has always had every Shadowhunter sucking up to her because she is the famous Clarissa Morgenstern. All she actually did was start a war with her own family and then she got all the praise for supposedly ending it too! It's ridiculous!!" I couldn't take any more, I walked into the room and out of concealment and let the door slam behind me.

I walked into the centre of the room and Rowan and Jace straightened up. I nodded and smiled at them and walked over to the throwing knives. I picked up three and threw them. All three landed in the bullseye, one after the other. Rowan stared in disbelief and I could have sworn Jace grinned before he lowered his head to hide it.

"Beautiful day, isn't it?" I said smiling sweetly. They just smiled. "You know, whilst I was away from home I had a lot of time on my hands and I actually did some research into my family. It turns out the Fairchilds, the Herondales, the Lightwoods, the Carstairs and the Blackthorns have quite a history together. The Lightwoods and the Herondales were related at one point, by marriage you know? You are also related to that warlock who helped me and my mother, Tessa Gray, I thought you might like to know..."

"Yes, that's really interesting actually, that would explain why she had a Herondale family ring" Jace said, Rowan nudged him and gave him a look

"Is everything alright?" I asked, innocently

"Perfect!" Rowan beamed at me, through gritted teeth.

"Wonderful!" I said bitterly back turning from the and reaching for the boxing gloves. I proceeded to punch the bag over and over again. I was punching too hard and it was swinging too much. Until Jace came and held the back of it. I smiled gratefully. Rowan was throwing daggers on the other side of the room, angrily, with a force that still wasn't helping her hit the bullseye.

The door opened and Izzy trutted into the room, Simon close to her side.

"Awww! You two are training together again, although I must say this isn't the most interesting thing i've walked in on you doing in here..." she said with a wink. I was sweating now, and took the gloves off. I laughed at Izzy's comment but Rowan looked absolutley horrified. She really must hate me now.

"Relax Iz, I was just taking out some frustation and Jace was helping me" she smiled "by holding the punching bag" I added before she could make a shrewd comment. She grinned but Jace looked slightly amused.
