Chapter 2 - What Happened to "We"?

"Okay, so we're just gonna give you an MRI scan, run some tests, it'll be completely harmless", Bruce said as he lead you into a room to adjust yourself as you laid on the bed under the MRI scanner.

You looked out the window of the room that divided you and the Avengers.

"We've got quite an audience, eh Doc?" you chuckled.

"Oh, don't mind them, they're just curious", Bruce said as he went out to where the Avengers were. Then he spoke into microphone. "Y/N, can you hear me?"

"Loud and clear, Doc."

"Hey, something weird happened with her", Tony mumbled to Bruce as he was pressing some buttons.

"W-What do you mean?"

"Well, she got hit by a car really badly, and then she somehow got healed instantly, like Wade does whenever he gets injured."

"Uh, yeah! Healing factors rule, dude!" Wade quipped cheerfully as he ate a taco, only for some meat to fall out. "My meat", he pouted.

"So you're saying that her having a regenerative system is weird?" Bruce inquired.

"No, that's not the weird part, the weird part is is that her body, her legs and fingers was like... put together again by this... dark purple goo or whatever. They looked broken before!" Tony said as he recalled what had happened earlier.

"Perhaps my brother could be of help, he might know whatever it is that healed Lady Y/N", Thor suggested.

Tony rolled his eyes and scoffed. "Pffsh, yeah as if."

Bruce ignored the two and spoke into the microphone again. "Okay, we're gonna get started, just relax and uh... yeah, here we go."

You nodded (even though they couldn't see you), then exhaled deeply and closed your e/c  eyes.

Bruce pressed one more button as the scanner started to whir on the screen in front of him, only for it to start glitching out as your distorted screams filled the room.

You were shaking violently as Guillotine's face was phasing in and out, and all that could be seen from the other side of the window was your legs shaking rapidly.

"What's happing to her?" Steve asked as he stepped closer to the scanner's screen.

"I-I don't know", Bruce stammered.

"What's happening in there? Y/N, are you okay?" Steve asked you.

"It seems the high frequency is affecting her terribly", Vision chimed in.

"Shut it off!" Tony and Thor exclaimed at the same time.

The others watched in fear at the sight of you moving and shaking violently. MRI scanners never had that affect on anyone before, so why was it happening to you?

Bruce shut it off instantly and ran into the other side of the room where he held your legs in place to calm you down and stop shaking and slid you out from under the MRI scanner as you sat up.

"Hey, hey, you're comin' out, you're comin' out", he said. "Are you alright?"

He placed his hand on your shoulder trying to get your attention as you sat up, looking uneasy.

You moved his hand away from your shoulder, mumbling a few 'yeahs' as you tried not to throw up.

You were sitting outside the medical ward as you were on your phone, trying to call Eddie again.

"Hey, it's Eddie Brock, leave a message", the voicemail said.
