Rise of The Second (Warhammer 40k Fanfic)

Chapter 1- Conquest of Yerushalaim

It had only been five years since Jahaziel and his brother Y'honathan landed on Yerushalaim. They grew up unnaturally quickly due to their primarch genes. Both brothers were double the height of the people in their city. Additionally, their intelligence had advanced beyond the understanding of many on the planet.

This further strengthened the belief that the two were messiahs in the eyes of the people. Throughout their "childhood" both brothers would start improving the lives of those in the small city they lived in. Jahaziel would coordinate building efforts and give rousing speeches to motivate people.

His brother Y'honathan focused on the military aspect of the city itself. He would train men into proper soldiers and would form tactics unmatched by those around him. In time, his army would soon overcome Sanctuary's invaders and prove far more superior than the nation's actual army.

The entire nation soon found itself rallying for Jahaziel and Y'honathan to lead it within but a year. But the leaders of the nation were stubborn and greedy. So when Jahaziel himself went to the capital city, he was ambushed by assassins. However, the ambush proved fruitless as Jahaziel himself fought off his attackers with only a steel sword.

Within the span of two months, Y'honathan's army had grown to a larger size. People across all of Sanctuary stood with their messiahs when they marched on the capital city. The battle lasted only an hour, with the enemy surrendering and Y'honathan's army lacking any real casualties.

The leaders were executed after many of their own crimes were revealed. From corruption to murder and the exploitation of the people. Jahaziel was unanimously chosen to lead Sanctuary as he chose his brother to be the head of it's military. In that time, Jahaziel would find out how good of an assistant his foster mother was.

But aside from their feats, both brothers still had something strange about them besides the obvious. When Jahaziel was still a baby, Aaron would continue to collect his tears whenever he cried. Even at his current age his foster father kept this a secret from him.

Y'honathan on the other hand, had a strange queerness about him sometimes. His presence was sometimes unsettling or immensely strange to some. But that's all that was strange about him, aside from that Y'honathan seemed to have no flaw whatsoever.

But Jahaziel was still different, and he himself knew it. Sometimes he'd hear strange whispers or somehow gaze into someone's soul! At least that's what it seemed like for him, which made him believe him and his brother were truly messiahs like they were raised to believe.

Both brothers were known for being infatuated with history. The two would study every history text they could get their hands on within the nation. But one day, Jahaziel would find a strange book that would help him in the understanding of his psychic potential. This would unknowingly put him in Tzeentch's sightlines, for the book was an artefact of his.

The Chaos god would only ever try to manipulate Jahaziel when his brother wasn't around. And even then it proved difficult due to the cautious behavior of Jahaziel when it came to his own psychic powers. The things him and his brother learned and the stories they were told was what built this caution.

But everyday Jahaziel trained in his abilities and eventually delved into studies of the warp itself, Tzeentch's plan would soon be complete. All the Chaos god had to do now was orchestrate one more event to seal Jahaziel's fate. Then the seeds of corruption would be placed, and havoc could be wreaked.

Two years would pass, and both brothers sought to bring about a new age on Yerushalaim. With a charismatic warrior like Jahaziel and a genius tactician like Y'honathan, no one would be able to stand in their way. Their conquest of their world would soon start, and something unexpected would follow.
