3rd Person POV

Another siege of a hive city, another moment of close quarters fighting. On and on it went, hive city after hive city as Babylon felt the might of the Righteous Crusaders. Marines had gone through the wastelands, securing the bases that belonged to the finest of Babylon. Sons were lost, but ground was gained more and more.

Soon enough, the end of the compliance was in sight. Jahaziel's fury carving the path for his sons, leading them from the front. Y'honathan's brutal and ruthless tactics and strategy paved the road as cities fell. With each city that fell to them, it was always one of two things for those who were in charge of each city.

Either they happily submitted, having enjoyed the glorious battle against the legion. Or they died fighting to the end, as true Babylonians as they had put it. Three cities, that's all that stood between the legion and victory. Three cities, the third being the capital city of the planet. In orbit, ships bombarded enemy positions whenever the opportunity had presented itself.

Sections of cities were blasted out, but could be repaired in but a few years. This compliance, this conquest, had given plenty more experience to those within the legion. While they had been fighting for the Emperor before their primarchs were found, this was their first hive world. But with their primarchs leading them, they held firm against the tide of assualts.

Above the blasted wasteland, assualt bikes rode forth. Behind them, they were followed by armored assault vehicles. The legion had divided in order to conquer two of the three cities in one swift attack. Y'honathan led the northern assualt as Jahaziel led the southern. As the cities came in sight, the ships in orbit bombarded them.

As Babylonians scattered in an attempt to find some sort of cover, the legion made it to the walls of the hive city. With the combined effort of orbital bombardment and melta bombs, the Righteous Crusaders breached the walls of both cities. Entering with bolter drawn, the fire fight the astartes were already used to began again. Bolter shots tearing through Babylonians, terminators wiping out whole platoons by themselves, and a primarch obliterating his opponents.

Suffice it to say, the legion would and has faced casualties during this compliance. Babylonians used their cities to commence urban and even guerilla warfare against their enemies. And those who inhabited the harsh wastelands were the strongest and deadliest of Babylon. By this point, a few hundred legionnaires had died to the Babylonians.

As the sieges of the cities raged on, marines cut forward as they went on. Amongst these sieges, two marines had specifically caught the eye of their brothers and primarchs. Jedediah Solomon, head of the 2nd Chapter and a wise veteran. He had climbed the ranks through his years and had been in the legion longer than Sigismund. Then there was Steppenwolf, a brazen and arrogant castellan who did whatever brought him glory. Selfish, hard headed, and utterly ruthless in battle.

As the siege of the cities dragged on, the siege of the southern assualt was coming closer to a close. Solomon had led his brothers onwards, adhering to everything Father Primus asked of him. It was time to charge onwards, and he was now commanding the second to final assualt.

Solomon stood by his primarch, Jahaziel towering over him as he did with all the marines. By this point, Jahaziel's anger had been tempered, and he was calm. Focused overly on wanting to end this compliance and move onward. Sigismund and a few other marines stood close by him, as Jahaziel's equerry, he was meant to always be by his side.

Solomon: What is your command my liege?

Jahaziel: You are to take your battle brothers and charge up the western flank. Seize the enemy position and ensure all foes around are decimated
