Harry POV

Harry no longer had any sense of where he was or what was happening. The pain had faded, first to a dull throbbing then it seemed like a distant memory. For a moment, a violent burning ripped its way through him but it was gone quickly. Harry was content to stay here, wherever here was. Floating in the darkness with no pain from his uncle or his friends or even from the world. No expectations, no false people or words; nothing that could hurt Harry ever again. Yes, he was perfectly happy to stay there.

But, too soon, there was a light breaking through into Harry's dark place. He shied away from it, scared of going back to the pain and hurt his uncle caused. The light, however, was soft and warm, wrapping Harry in a warm cocoon. Harry relaxed and let the warmth seep into him. After a moment, Harry could partially feel his body again, he felt as though his head was buried under cotton. The boy struggled for what seemed like hours to open his eyes and immediately shut them due to a painful light that seemed to stab his sensitive eyes. With his eyes closed, Harry could hear the sound of what seemed to be heavy cloth rustling and metal sliding shut. Trying again to open his eyes, he blinked a few times and let them adjust to the now dimmer room.

After a moment, Harry could see and was confused by what he saw. He was laying on his side in a very unfamiliar room with someone, who was a more familiar person, standing over him.

"Professor Snape?" Harry's voice was rough from screaming and being unused. "What is going on?"

Professor Snape looked at Harry, a thoughtful expression on his face. After a moment Snape answered, "We are at Riddle manor, you are safe. Cissa and I have spent almost three days healing you." Harry just got an even more confused look on his face. Snape sighed, "After you have eaten something, Tom and I will explain more."

Harry mouthed the words Tom, Riddle Manor, and saved, over and over, his breath speeding up until he was hyperventilating.

Snape quickly put his hands on the panicking teen and looked him in the eye, "Harry. Harry, I need you to look at me and breathe. Breathe, Harry. You're okay, you're safe. No one here is going to hurt you." Harry locked eyes with Snape and followed his breath and listened to his words. "You're safe. Your cousin wrote a letter and Hedwig came to me. I promise no one will hurt you." Snape kept saying calming things to Harry as his breath continued to slow.

Finally, he was calm enough to satisfy Snape so the professor removed his hands from the boy's shoulders. For a moment Harry wanted him to keep his hands there. It had been so long since anyone had touched him in a friendly manner. Snape reached for Harry's face, intending to wipe the tears now rolling down his cheeks. The boy flinched, causing Snape to freeze. Harry then laid his head in Snape's outstretched hand and closed his eyes, feeling content.

A second later, the door opened and let more light spill into the dimmed room. The silhouette of a woman paused in the doorway for a moment before fully entering the room, allowing Harry to see her more clearly. She was tall and graceful, Harry noted, as she seemed to glide across the floor to a place next to Snape. The raven haired boy noted her long pale blonde hair and an eye color the same shade as Draco's. Adding this together, he figured she was his mother. But, yet, he was unafraid of her as she radiated a calm, motherly air. It gave Harry a feeling of being safe, he knew in the back of his mind she wouldn't hurt him. She handed the tray she had been holding to Snape and conjured up a chair. She smiled at Harry as she sat down andHarry was happy to smile back.

Snape started to talk, "Harry," Harry focused on Snape. "Do you want to try sitting up to eat?"

Harry thought for a moment before nodding. Taking a deep breath, Harry slid his arm under himself and pushed up against the bed. Funny, he felt only mild twinges of pain, normally after being beat he had trouble even getting off the floor without being racked with pain.

After taking a moment to gain his balance in the new position, Harry tried to move to fully sit up. A large weight on his back pulled him back towards the bed and made it hard to do as he wished. Turning his head, he vaguely noted his hair was much longer than before. Then he glimpsed the things on his back. Every other thought flew out of his mind at the sight. What in the world was on his back? Harry strained his head to get a better look at whatever was on his back. He then realized they were wings and the boy was now fully aware of them being there. Harry could feel the slight tugging sensation across his back, with the core of it coming from his shoulder blades.

The wings started as a blackish color with a bit of red that led into a deep ruby red closer to the base. On the inside, the wings were lethery but the outside was covered in overlapping scales. Harry guessed it was meant to be an armor of sorts. He also noted the wings closely resembled those of a dragon. It was then that Harry turned away from his wings and back to the two adults in the room, fear and confusion filling his eyes. Snape gave him a small smile and reached forward to help the boy sit up completely.

The woman set the tray on Harry's lap. It had what looked to be chicken soup, a roll, some mixed veggies and a glass of milk and a glass of pumpkin juice.

"I hope this is ok. I wasn't sure what you would like," She said in a soft voice.

Harry looked at her with wide eyes, "You mean, this is all for me?!" Something flitted across her face before she nodded at him.

Harry slowly picked up the spoon while watching both adults, scared they would take it back. The woman looked as though she was going to cry and Snape looked like he was in pain. Harry turned back to the food and started eating. He took small bites, going slow because he knew if he ate too fast he would be sick, especially after going for who knows how long without food.

After eating only 2 bites of the roll, 1 piece of broccoli and a couple sips of the soup with less than a fifth of the milk gone, Harry was full. He looked up at Snape almost guiltily.

"I can't eat anymore." He whispered. Snape nodded his head at Harry and took the tray.

"Now Narcissa is going to run a diagnostic spell on you. It won't hurt in any way, ok?" The professor asked quietly.

Harry nodded that it was fine. Narcissa gave a quick flick with her wand and a scroll appeared in her hands. Quickly scanning it she looked back up at Snape.

"We have healed everything we can. I would recommend nutritional potions with every meal for a while though. His iron is still extremely low so maybe some blood replenishing potions as well," She explained before smiling at Harry and standing again. "I'm going to let Tom know that he is awake and let Draco know you'll see him soon." Then she turned and with a soft swishing sound from her gown slipped out the door.

Professor Snape turned back to Harry. "Would you like to see what the rest of you looks like?"

Harry gave Snape a nod and the man helped him out of the bed. He slowly led Harry to a full body mirror. The boy just stared at himself, taking in the changes. His hair was much longer than before and now hung straight down his back, ending just below the base of his wings. The color of his hair now seemed to match his wings, black with red running through it. He noted that his ears were now pointed and just barely peaked out from his hair. It was then that Harry noticed the small antlers that protruded from the crown of his head. He also noticed his face was sharper than it had been and was now a snow white color. His nose had shrunk and his mouth was now a cute bow shape. Harry's eyes were now almond shaped with oddly colored eyes. He still had the killing curse green eyes, but now around his pupil was a ring of bloody ruby as well as the flecks of gold and violet added to the green. His figure as a whole was more feminine now with curved hips and a smaller waist. Harry noted his height had changed as well as he looked to be about five feet tall now.

Harry turned and looked at Snape, "What happened? What am I?"

Snape opened his mouth to reply, but the door opening cut him off. This new person was tall with short, deep brown hair that fell in neat waves. He scanned the room, his eyes landing first on Snape then on Harry. Ruby red eyes locked on Avada Kedavra green eyes. As Harry sucked in a breath from fear, he smelt the most amazing thing. A mix of vanilla and cherry with a hint of pepper and ink, another scent hidden below that but Harry couldn't place it. His eyes fluttered closed for a moment, forgetting who was in the room. Then he remembered Voldermort was in the room and scrambled backwards. His back hit the mirror, eyes going wide with fear. Harry shunk to the ground and instinctively used his wings to shield himself.
