Crutchie:

He didn't think much of anything at first--he was just trying to get his papes sold to a random family walking by. When your parents rejected him he was annoyed, but he was even more annoyed after he saw the look of pity on your face as you asked him for a paper. He knew you were only buying that pape because you noticed his bum leg and he hated people thinking he couldn't take care of himself.

Some days went by and you guys had been running into each other, same time same spot. Eventually you started talking to each other, and he didn't really realize it, but he was starting to catch feelings for your adorkable self. Seeing you made him smile more than he would like to admit, and he felt happier with you around.

Spot:

The first thing he noticed when he saw the other two boys making fun of you was how you failed to show weakness or back down. He never really thought much of girls, but once he saw you standing your ground, he could tell you were strong and he knew right away that he wanted you by his side. By the looks of you and how you reacted when he helped you out, he knew it was gonna be a while before he would be able to tell you how he felt, but he admired that.

Race:

It was a regular old day for Race, that is the moment until he laid eyes on you.

He was out selling his papes, y'know, the same old same old. He got bored and tired and decided to take a break. As he sat and watched pedestrians stroll past, suddenly someone catches his eye--someone more beautiful than any girl he'd ever seen.

Before he got the chance to sell you a paper (read as: flirt with you), you were quickly pulled along by someone Race guessed was your dad.

He went on for a while admiring your beauty from a distance, since he noticed that you were always with your dad. With each passing day his longing to talk to you became stronger, and he couldn't keep his mouth shut about you around the other newsies.
