Hey so I am a HORRIBLE writer. Well, not actually lol, I just never write at all and I apologize.

However! I have written the best romance scene I've ever written, and thought that I could use it for content.

This is a little different than your normal "x reader", because it's written in the pov of literally ANYONE you want to imagine it is. So any newsie you want. Or anybody really.

I'm using she/her pronouns for "y/n" in this story because I originally wrote the bit as if I were the character lol. So you can pretend it's different pronouns if you need. The character you wanna imagine in this scenario can be any gender. Also this is set in modern day, the two of you have been best friends since forever (you're both 16 but you can change that lol), and the words "dude" and "bro" are said lol (because again I wrote this originally for myself, and I call everyone dude and bro, even my bf if I had one...)

Just as a reminder:

y/n = your name
e/c = eye color
h/c = hair color

Without further ado:

"Anyways, I just thought that was really funny," y/n said, giggling. She smiled up at me. I could feel my heart pounding at a hundred miles per hour, my face starting to burn. I tried to look away but couldn't. How anyone could avoid staring into those beautiful, e/c eyes was a question I definitely couldn't answer.

Her expression changed to a look of concern. "Are you good?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

I wanted to answer but I was completely frozen. I would've told her that I was fine, which was a total lie. She's my best friend and yet I can't even talk to her. Everything she did melted my heart, and the look of confusion on her face while she stared up at me was, to put it simply, really freaking cute.

Y/n ruffled both eyebrows, her concern growing. "Hey, are you..."

I couldn't hold myself together anymore. Before she could finish saying "okay", I startled her by slowly leaning closer toward her. Her eyes widened, but to my surprise she said nothing. I closed my eyes and felt my lips press softly against hers. The butterflies in my stomach went haywire. Our faces fit almost perfectly together. Her breath was minty and sweet from the gum we shared at the mall.

The kiss lasted a lot longer and was a bit more passionate than I thought it was going to be. I had held her waist with one hand, pulling her closer toward me, and was holding the back of her head in my other hand, my fingers intertwined in her soft h/c hair. She had been holding my face with both hands, but eventually rested one hand on my chest, causing my chest to be filled with a burning sensation.

We finally pulled away. I stared down at her, unable to think properly. With her eyes still closed, she rested her head and both hands on my chest. I wrapped her in my arms and we stood in silence for a while.

A minute or so later I felt the need to give an explanation. One second we're best friends having a good laugh, then the next...well...That probably made no sense to y/n. In fact, it made barely any sense to me.

"Hey, I--" I started to say, but y/n interrupted with a quiet "shhhh".

"We can give our confessions later," she said. "For now let's just...stay like this."

I nodded. I was more than happy to stay like that for as long as possible. I wanted so badly to just say "I love you", but I held back. I knew it was too soon to say something like that, but honestly I really meant it, and I wanted her to know.

Two hours had gone by since we kissed. Y/n had insisted we bake a batch of her favorite cookies to eat while we watched a movie, during which she said we could give each other our confessions.
