"So we're going to some girl's party, why?" Carson asks, as she, Scott, and Stiles walk down the sidewalk.
"Because I've known her since preschool, and it's her seventeenth birthday," Stiles responds for the fifth time that night.
"I've known Jackson since preschool, and I couldn't care less if he had a party," she shrugs, before she steps to the side to answer Derek's phone call.
"Yes Der-Bear?"
"I told you to stop calling me that."
"Yeah well I don't listen, and you should embrace it, we could be like comic book characters. "Adventures of Der Bear and the Mermaid." But what's up?"
"You're late."
"I had a prior engagement."
"You're irresponsible and annoying. It's the last session."
"And you're a mean trainer, bye now!" she hangs up.
"Onward and upward, now let's do this," he and Scott do a handshake, while she rolls her eyes.
"Derek is gonna kill me for not coming to train."
"You train all the time, give yourself a break," Scott touches her shoulder.
"Did the kanima take a break? Did Gerard?"
"I'm just saying," they walk into the house, "You need to relax."
"I have become a very serene person, Scott. There is literally nothing that could mess-" she stops talking as the birthday girl kisses Stiles and drags him away.
"--That up." she whispers, feeling an unfamiliar wave of jealousy.
Deciding to put her game face on, she walks into the crowd, asking, "Can anyone get me a drink? I'm so parched." Naturally, half the guys in the room come back with a variety of alcohol. She grabs three bottles, blowing a kiss their way.
"I missed you," Scott laughs as she hands him a beer.
"Who wouldn't?" she winks.
After a series of drinks, Scott attempts to convince Carson to come outside to see Lydia and Allison.
"No thanks, Scotty. Chad here-"
"Brad."
"Chad is telling me about his yacht," she slurs, giggling.
"You're wasted," he shrugs, going outside while keeping an ear out for her.
"So Chad-"
"Brad."
"Chad, you're so funny," she laughs, getting up to go to the bathroom.
She sits on the tub, scrolling through her Twitter, before Stiles barges in. He doesn't notice her until after he grabs the condom from the drawer.
