Carson leaves the hospital early that morning after arguing with the nurse over why her dad should be able to get a second cup of jello.
"It's not fair to the other patients!"
"He probably fixed half of those patients' brains, sweetheart. Give him the damn jello," she sneers.
"I don't even want anymore jello," he chuckles from the bed.
"Alright, I gotta go. I'll be back tonight," she grabs her bag, leaving the hospital, only to see her best friend's car.
"Lydia, what are you doing here?"
"Allison needs our help, let's go," she points to Kyle's red Mercedes in front of her car.
"What are we doing?" she gets in her car, calling Lydia.
"We are gonna get the Shugendo scroll. Allison thinks it's in Katashi's silver finger. It's supposed to tell us-"
"How to remove the nogitsune, I know. My aunt told me," she cuts her off, met with noises of shock.
"Your aunt? Sofia?"
"You know the new guidance counselor?"
"Yeah, she's really nice."
"Yeah, that was my aunt. She has the ability to change her face, which is weird on many levels, and if Stiles were around he'd probably be having a coniption right about now."
"Well, are you okay?"
"Eh, I'll be alright. Can only go up from rock bottom, right?" she jokes.
"As soon as this is over, you, me, and Allison are going on a spa trip. And a resort. Cabo, right?" Lydia says, as they turn onto Allison's street.
"Cabo, for sure. And I'm sorry, for being a bitch about Aiden. I didn't realize how much you liked him, and I know he never meant to kill Kyle. Honestly, I think he would have died regardless. I still don't like him though."
"I don't like him that much."
"You're starting to sound like me."
"We've been friends for 14 years, it was bound to happen eventually," they both park.
