The next day the fight was all over the news. My brother and my mom were watching it and at some point my brother, Socrates, called me to see it too. I go to the living room ready to feel proud but a surprise awaits me. They weren't praising me and Leon...the exact opposite. "Heroes or Villains?", "The heroes are MURDERERS?" "Should we be SCARED of the HEROES?". That's all they were saying.
"Last night it was reported that the heroes of Thessaloniki and Ioannina were right here in this gas station and fought. As we were looking around the place we found TWO dead bodies! Did the heroes kill them? Let's see what the firefighters have to say that worked together with them.". The reporter said all of this and then pointed her microphone towards a firefighter and he replied with "We didn't see anything from the fight, we only came to set off the fire that somehow got lit up.". Then the reporter asks him "We can see that there's petrol everywhere, do you think the heroes did it on purpose and maybe then called you to look innocent?". The firefighter looked very anxious. "I don't think so..." he says and then takes a quick look at the reporter and continues "but you never know...". The reporter kept talking bad about us.
-Oh well, I gotta head down to work
My mom says and so there's only me and my brother left watching the news.
-Ugh this is so stupid!
I say with anger while standing up from the couch. Socrates looks at me with a worried look.
-It's okay, it's okay, don't ruin your psychology for this...you know the media say big lies to get more views, right?
He says to me. I sit down again and leave a small sigh under my breath.
-Socrates, I've been meaning to talk to you...
His eyes widen and he looks very invested in what I wanna talk about.
-Yes, yes, you can talk to me!...
He replies a little nervously yet looking excited
-Woah woah okay, chill out, why so nervous?
I say and take my eyes off him and try to build up the courage to tell him what I wanted.
-You see... I have no idea how you will react or if you'll even believe me but...
As I talk he stares at me.
-I...I am the hero of Thessaloniki...
There's complete silence for a second, but then he stands up enthusiastically from the couch and yells
-I KNEW IT! I FUCKING KNEW IT!
as he acts like he won the lottery or something. I stare at him with my eyes wide open.-YOU KNEW? WHAT THE HELL, HOW?!
-The way you acted, and how whenever there was an attack you somehow always disappeared...
-Oh I see, yes, I wasn't good at hiding, huh
-Kind of. But why did you decide to tell me now?
-Well, you see...Dionysus...
-You mean Akis?
-Yeah yeah, Akis, him
-What about him?
-He is a villain and I had fought with him on my school trip at Corfu...
-YOU WHAT?!
Socrates said as he quickly stood up from the couch and then continued
-YOU KNEW HE WAS A VILLAIN AND DIDN'T SAY A THING?
-WOAH CHILL, I just kept quite cause he didn't remember my face, so I took it as a chance to find out more stuff about him, but turns out I never learnt anything
