CHAPTER - 14

Mackenzie's POV

Oh my!, how could I forget to bring Nick's helmet!, am dead as hell!, I slapped myself mentally. Sam and I took our book from our lockers and headed for the third class of the day, All the classes we've been to so far today has been really boring, its all about revision of what we learnt during the semester, this class was no exception, I couldn't even catch a piece of what the teacher was saying.
All I was thinking of is to come up with a perfect excuse and tell Nick as to why I didn't bring his helmet, but I just couldn't find a good one.
Finally!, class has ended. I stood up, grabbed my books and pulled Sam along with me outside the class.
"Where are you dragging me to!", Sam began to complain.
"To the library of course!, and before you ask me why, you know we will be starting our exams next week so we have to prepare for it".I answered her unasked question too.

"It's lunch time for heavens sake!, can't we just save the learning for later?"
"No, lets go and learn, and don't worry I'll get us something to eat".
We got to the library, students were busily learning,we got a comfortable spot and seated ourselves.
"Am hungry", Sam pouted her lips , slightly annoyed.
"But its been only 30:min since we started to learn, nevermind, I will get us something to eat, just sit here and learn ok".
"But-"
"No buts , just learn I'll be back in a moment".
"You are treating me like a 5 year old", Sam muttered, I managed to hear it, I couldn't help it but to giggle.

I just don't want you to question me when we see Nick, because the conversation that will go on will make you question me and I don't feel like explaining anything now, that that's why we left class early. I said to myself.
I left the library and went to the nearest fast food store. I got Sam and I sandwich and orange juice as usual. My prayer now is not to meet Nick,its been long since I heard of Ace though. Thank goodness, I didn't see Nick or Ace on my way back, don't get me wrong, its not that I don't wish to see Ace, he is a sweet guy , but its Just that wherever there is Ace, Nick will be there too.
Sam was with Ace when I got to the library.
Am quite surprised to see him alone.
"Heyy Ace,its been long since I saw you, I last heard from you the day you called me asking for my biology script", I whispered because we are in the library.

"Yeah, McKenzie , you will hear from me frequently after we are done with the exams"

"Yeah I hope so, Sam and I are going to have some snacks, will you join us?"
"No, carry on, Am pretty full now,I will learn here, and Nick will be mad at me if I keep long, he is in one of the classes".

"Ok" was all I managed to say, Sam and I sat on a bench outside the library to eat our food , this isn't food its a snack anyways.
We were halfway through when Nick showed up with a stern look facing us.
What the fuck!, I cursed under my breath, I didn't wait for him to speak cause I know what he will say , so I spoke first.

"Sorry for not giving you back your helmet last time, I forgot to bring it with me today, but I will surely bring it tomorrow"

" How could you take what doesn't belong to you!"

"Excuse me mister!, it's not like I did it on purpose, I even apologized, I really appreciate the fact that you saved me yesterday , but that does not mean I will sit for you to say trash about me!, and please stop bothering me, I will bring your helmet tomorrow!". Am beginning to become angry.

"Yeah, whatever!, make sure to bring it tomorrow !, I don't have that much patience to wait!" Nick spat the words on my face and stormed off.

Nick!!!!!!!!, you see what you've caused!, now I have to explain everything to confused Sam. I hate you!!!

"Girl, what was all these argument about, am missing a lot of details".
I explained everything That happened yesterday to Sam.
" am not surprised Nick fought them all at all, I hate to admit this but Nick did well, After all he has some humanity left in his", Samantha commented.
"Yeah I agree".

"Clara!!, Clara!!, where is the helmet in my room", am quite irritated now, the first thing I did when we closed from school was to check and see if Nick's helmet was intact, but no, I couldn't find the helmet in my room, Clara is the only person that comes in and leave my room whenever She likes, so its obvious that she knows the whereabouts of it.
"My ear drums will burst out from your screams lil sis, uh about the helmet, I saw it in your room, I thought you wouldn't need it so I sold it off , it looked expensive though", my sister said in a kind of ' its not a big deal' way, .
"Like seriously sis!, you could have asked me about it first before deciding to sell it off!"

" its not like its my fault!, you don't own a motorcycle so I thought it was not worthwhile for you!" Clara argued back.

Thank goodness my parents ain't home yet, I would have been the one to be scolded if they were to be here, they would say am bothering Clara with her final exams and whole lot of stuffs, well, did I mention that Clara started her finals last week and that she will be done by next two weeks, my bad, I had a whole lot of things going on so I forgot about my sister.

"You know what, just leave it!, I will find a way and find that helmet!" I stated.

"Don't even think of retrieving it, cause there is no way you will get it back, and you are not going to get the same brand of helmet", Clara said the facts.

I stormed off into my room, leaving Clara in the living room, she didn't even care, she doesn't know the trouble she've gotten me into.
I was so full of myself back in school today, now see the disaster that has occurred.
I wonder What I will say to Nick, he might think I did it on purpose.

Am doomed!!.

I said I would write a bit of the childhood memories Nick and Ace shared, but I couldn't write it because am sleepy now, my eyes are heavy.
I'll make it up to you guys.
Although this wasn't how I wanted this chapter to be, I hope you enjoyed it.
