CHAPTER- 15

"Erm I- I- I misplaced your helmet", Am standing in front of Nick now near the Science block, am quite tensed now.
"You what!!, y-you misplaced my helmet!!, do you know how much that costs!, do you know how much it means to me!!" Nick yelled at me.

"Yeah I know it really means a lot to you, I will compensate you, what do you want me to do for you in return for your helmet", am going to regret this now!, I can't do anything about it now, the words are already out.
" Actually about that let me think of it" Nick started pacing back and forth as if he is thinking of what to do in order to solve a big problem, after what seemed like 3 mins of Nick going to and fro and me standing there looking at him quite irritated, he came to a stop.

" You will buy me korean Kimchi after we finish the first subject of every exams everyday, I will only give you 10 mins, your time starts now!" Nick said and looked at his watch with an Iron face.

"Seriously!,our second paper will start in half an hour and Kimchi is sold outside the school!, I will have to walk for about 15 minutes to get to the Korean Restaurant, so in all it will take about 40mins!,the paper would already begin by then, and you are giving me 10 mins!. Am a bit mad now, Sam is waiting for me in the Library with Ace.

" 9 mins more,", Nick said while tapping his feet, he isn't even considering what I've said.

"Fine, I'll go get it", I have no choice but to buy it for him until we finish all our papers, I don't want to owe to him anything , so I would do whatever.

I raced to the restaurant , am tired , I hurried and got the food and raced back to the school. Nick was standing at the same spot tapping his black sneakers. I got to him.

"Here , your Kimchi", I said while panting, I wiped the sweats on my forehead with my arm. He took the food from me.

"You are 6 mins late you know!, don't be late next time!, I don't have the patience to wait for you!" Nick said and started to leave, he stopped in his tracks and turned to face me:

"And, oh, get the same food tomorrow too at the usual time, and that too with your money", he commanded .

"Seriously!!, am exhausted ok!, do you know the trouble I had to go through in order to get that Kimchi!, its expensive ok!,I'll be skint ( broke) by the end of this exams!!." I shouted after him.

"That's not my business" he replied and left.

Fine!, am going through this all because of Clara!, she is pretty annoying. I checked the digital watch on my wrist.
Oh no, am two minutes late!! for the exam, Sam and Ace are already seated for the exam so there is no need for me to go to the library.
I raced off to the biology class for the exams. Thank goodness, the teacher isn't in the class yet, so I take it as we haven't started the exam yet. I saw Sam and Ace seated already, I joined them.
" where did you go, what took you so long!, we were waiting for you !", Sam whispered and shot me a glare.
"Uh I had to take care of something", I whispered back.
"McKenzie, you are sweating, are you ok?", Ace whispered to me with a worried face.
"Uh yeah am fine, don't worry", I once again wiped the sweats. Just as I finished, the teacher entered the class and we began our exam, thank goodness that I love biology, I wrote the exam with me being least exhausted. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Ace has been spending more time with us since the day I saw him at the library with Sam,so we are pretty close now, am quite surprised myself too, Nick didn't question Ace why he spent his time with us, that's not just him!.

Its been a week, am all drained, my eyes look puffy , am exhausted, the whole week has been like hell to me, I race everyday after our first paper and go get kimchi for Nick, and am always a minute or two late for our last paper of the day which is our second paper.
Sam and Ace always asks me if they was something wrong, but I always come up with some excuse to answer them, they don't know its because of Nick that's why am exhausted nowadays. Am at the Korean restaurant now, trying to get Nick AKA Mr. Iron face 's kimchi , its cloudy now, it seems it want to rain. I got the food and just as I was heading out , it started to rain, oh no!, how do I get to school in time!, I have no choice now but to run through the rain , I stepped into the rain, its raining quite hard, I started to race to the school, people were trying to stop me from running, but I didn't pay heed to them, I managed to get to the school after stumbling multiple times on the road, I got to where I'll climb the steps and get to the Science block , Oh my , how am I supposed to climb this whole steps , am tired OK,my body is getting numb with each step I take, I can't hold it anymore, my bones are getting weak and weaker because I've been running nonstop and that too in this heavy rainfall, I fell to the ground, I struggled getting up but I couldn't , some students were watching me from their classes, like seriously!, I need help and all they could do was to watch me suffer, I gave up and was on the floor , its raining hard now, after what seemed like eternity ,I saw two figures making their way towards me.
" Kenz!!, Kenz!!"

I couldn't see them clearly because my eyes are blurry right now but I recognized them to be Ace and Sam.

"Mhm, " I replied weakly, I don't have the energy to speak now. I don't know what happened after that because all I could see now was darkness.

I opened my eyes slowly and tried to move but I couldn't , Ugh !, my head hurts , I looked at my surrounding and realized that I was in the sick bay, just as I was trying to get off the bed, Sam and Ace came in.

"Relax kenz, take it easy", Sam worriedly said and hurried to help me sit on the bed together with Ace.

"You passed out in the rain and Sam and I brought you to the Sick bay, and don't worry about the exam, we asked permission for you, so you can continue your papers when you are all fit", Ace said while pouring a glass of water for me.

I was quite relieved after hearing that.

"Thanks guys, I really appreciate what you did for me".
"No probs Kenz , what are friends for", Ace and Sam said in unision, they looked at each and started to laugh. I joined them and we all laughed till our stomach hurts.

Nick's POV

I didn't expect McKenzie to run through the rain, this girl is really something.
I was in the science class looking at McKenzie struggling to get up from the ground, I felt the sudden urge to help her up and tell her that, she didn't have to go through those shits in order to bring me the food on time, I didn't need the food anyways .
My heart ached when I saw her struggling to get on her feet.
I was relieved when Sam and Ace helped her, I would have done so myself if they didn't show up.

I hope McKenzie gets better, I heard she is in the sick bay.
