I am currently 20 years old and after getting accepted into Dongguk University in Seoul, I knew I was on my way to begin my journey of being an actress and singer in South Korea. I am usually a shy person, but I know once I start learning how to act properly, I will grow out of my shell. I arrive in Seoul after a long, long flight from America. Once arriving, I must take the taxi to my new apartment where I will be living alone for the rest of my days at college, for 2 years I'll be living alone in Korea. It will be a challenge, but I am up for this new challenge.
I arrive to my new apartment and start organizing my things. I didn't bring many of my belongings with me to Korea, namely my K-pop albums because I had too many, so I just packed up my clothing and shoes, they should be arriving in about 2 weeks. In the meantime, I will just familiarize myself with the city and my college campus. This is all new to me. I have never lived alone up until this point, and attending college in a foreign country was expensive, but I worked towards my dream thus far, so I'm glad I'm finally here.
Once I finished my first week at Dongguk University, I'm feeling more comfortable here. I have made some friends with the basic Korean I do know, and that I'm still learning. I also made friends with some of the foreign students, who can relate to me because of feeling alone and isolated in a foreign country. I first met them in the library while I was doing my daily Korean study session by myself. The first to approach me was a girl named Julia Simm from Germany. She was really pretty.
"Hi, you look lonely." Julia said.
"Well, I'm just studying." I said.
"Oh, hi. My name is Julia Simm and I'm from Hamburg, Germany. Nice to meet you." Julia said.
"Nice to meet you, too. My name is Raeshel and I'm from America." I said.
"Aww, that's nice." Julia said.
"I can also speak a little bit of German, I just haven't studied since high school." I said.
"Ah, sprichst du Deutsch?" Julia asked(Do you speak German?)
"Ich habe Deutsch gelernt." I said(I learned German)
"It's okay if you're not good anymore." Julia said.
"Okay, I was getting nervous cause I was running out of German words." I said.
Julia laughs, "That's okay."After chatting with Julia for a long while in the library, we became good friends. Then, I attended the rest of the classes for the day. The following week, I returned home from college and saw that my package from America, with with my clothes and shoes has arrived. I happily drag the box into my apartment and tear it open. I start to put my clothes into my built-in closet included in my apartment, then I organize my shoes in the shoe closet. Once all of the organizing is finished, I decided it's time for me to explore the city after being so focused on my studies in college.
I go around Gangnam after taking a taxi from my apartment. As I'm wandering around, I spot someone with hot pink hair, who looked so familiar. I just can't think of his name right now. I know he looks like someone, I just need to go confront him so I know if it's who I think it is. I walk up to him and tap him on the shoulder. He turns to me and I ask,
"Are you. . . San?"
"Yes, nice to meet you." San said with a smile.
"No way. I thought I would never meet anyone famous here." I said.
"Oh, stop. I'm not famous." San said.
"Of course you are. You're in ATEEZ." I said.
"Hmm, sure. I can thank ATINY for our success. Are you an ATINY?" San asked.
"I wouldn't have approached you if I didn't know who you were. I love ATEEZ." I said.
"Ahh, great." San said.
"Can we. . . Be friends? I mean, I came here to achieve my dream of being an actress and singer." I said, stuttering on my words.
"You want to be an actress and singer? Maybe I can help you." San said.
"Really?" I asked, shocked.
"I can be your vocal mentor." San said.
"Why would you offer me that if we're literal strangers? It seems weird." I said.
"It's because I can see your potential. Just trust me to help you." San said.
"Okay, may I have your KakaoTalk?" I asked.
"Mhm." San said. This isn't happening right now. There is no way I just met San of ATEEZ just randomly in Gangnam. Then, I see why. I look across the street and there is the KQ Entertainment building. San must have been heading out to do something. Maybe something for his schedule, or maybe something just for fun. After San and I exchanged KakaoTalk IDs, it was official from there. San had to leave so he could go do whatever he needed to do, so I went back to my apartment. I still can't believe that I met San today. It was by random chance that something like this could happen when I came back to Korea. I came here to achieve two of my dreams, and I think with San's help, my dreams might actually come true. . .
