*12 Years Later*
It's been a long, long time. Both San and I had retired from the industry about 6 years ago. We decided to retire so we could dedicate ourselves to our kids instead of having them be raised by babysitters. Now, we've moved to America. We are living out in New York City. This is a big city, and I think since Kai and Krystal got used to Seoul, moving to New York City won't be much different on terms of population.

Kai is now 12 years old in international age and 13 in Korean age. Krystal is 11 years old in international age and 13 in Korean age. They are only one year apart, but they are the same age in Korean age, which always threw me off. They already started middle school in Korea, but they will have to finish in America. I know it will be a hard transition, but I know our kids are fighter. In the meantime, I need to get my American citizenship back, and San needs to work on getting his citizenship as well.

We enrolled Kai and Krystal into the highest ratest private school. We want them to go to a private school because it is much better than public school. I went to public school and it was some of the worst times I had. The private school goes from K-12, so it will also cover when they go into high school. It will also be nice because this school makes their students wear uniforms, and they are already used to wearing uniforms from attending school in Korea. Their school in Manhattan, New York is called Trinity School.

Once buying their uniforms and enrolling them into Trinity School, Kai and Krystal officially started school in America. They are not too good at English, but they learn from me and in school. In Korean school, they don't really focus on the speaking aspect, but more on grammar and writing, so that’s why they are more confident writing in English rather than speaking. I hope that's not too much of a problem when they start school.

About two weeks into school, Kai and Krystal got used to this new system. Whenever they have questions, I encourage them to ask their teachers, or ask me. I am best in English, I always was in school. I got a scholarship for English language that worked for multiple schools, but I ended up using it for Dongguk University. Now, it's been 20 years since I've really used English. I forget some of it, but that's what our kids are for. As for San, he's always been good at English and Japanese. I think San is just a language genius, to be honest. Whenever I forget something, San reminds me of it, and I always joke that I'm the American, but I somehow forget English.

*3 Years Later*
Kai and Kystral are in high school now. They kept telling San and I that they have two Korean teachers, Mr. Kim and Mrs. Park. Whenever they go to their classes, they greet them in Korean and it's the cutest thing ever. Ever since they started school in America, they've gotten much better at English. Their English teachers told me how much they improved on their MAP and their New York Standardized Testing and Reporting(STAR) tests. Usually, these tests are only required in public schools, but private schools started doing these tests as well to test their students' progress.

After going into high school, Kai realized that he has this passion for dancing and performing. He began taking dance classes in middle school alongside his taekwondo classes that San pretty much required of them to take. Then, he found old videos of San in his prime, performing with his group in ATEEZ. He came home one day, bursting through the door,
"아빠, 저는 아이돌이 되고 싶어요."(Dad, I wanna be an idol)
"그래요?" San asked(You do?)
"네, 마자요. I really want to." Kai said(Yes, right)
"I say, go for it, son. I did it for years." San said.
"Yeah, I say, just follow your heart, Kai." I said.
"Mom!" Kystral exclaimed.
"Yes?" I asked.
"I wanna be an actress like you." Kystral said.
"Oh, here we go." I said.
"I saw your first drama, Love in Focus." Kystral said.
"Oh, God. You saw your mother in her early 20's." I said, putting my hand on my forehead in embarrassment.
"Mhm. I really liked your drama. I also watched this old drama called Itaewon Class." Kystral said.
"You're not supposed to watch that." I said.
"What? I'm 14, almost 15. I think I should be able to watch it." Kystral said.
"Sure, honey." San said.
"San! Don't encourage her." I said.
"I'm just kidding. You're too young to be watching that." San said.
"The point is, I want to be an actress." Kystral said.
"And I want to be an idol." Kai said.
"There are already so many Kai's in K-pop, why not add one more?" I asked.
"Sure." San said.
"Will you let me go to auditions?" Kai asked.
"Of course." San and I said in unison.

Looks like Kai has done his research because the three big companies are holding auditions in New York today; YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment. Along with those other companies are holding auditions; Fantagio Entertainment, Woollim Entertainment, Big Hit Entertainment, E Entertainment, MLD Entertainment, P Nation, Starship Entertainment, Pledis Entertainment, FNC Entertainment, and KQ Entertainment. San warned Kai about the terrible companies and said that the best company is KQ Entertainment, with a wink.

Meanwhile, Kystral went to various auditions for acting. She began taking acting lessons in middle school as well. The agencies who are holding auditions are; William Morris Endeavor, Creative Artists Agency, Central Casting, Gersh, Boals Winnett & Associates, and John Robert Powers. I allowed Krystal to go to all of these agency auditions. The best overall is Creative Arts Agency, so I encouraged Kystral to go for that one. By the time she finished all her auditions, the agency who called her back was that one. I am just as surprised as Kystral. Looks like she will be starting off her new career; teen actress.
