I was on the fifty yard line in Beaver Stadium. I was happy, I was laughing, I felt whole. I could feel the sun shining all over my skin. I looked down at my skin and realised I was wearing my scrubs, I had a simple ring on my finger.
I made it.
I did it.
But as fast as the sun went up, the sun came down.
The stars and the moon were shining bright.
"Don't make the same mistake I did, everything will be alright," A voice whispered in my head. I felt cold. What mistake? Suddenly, I felt the wind pick up around me. I was changing locations.
I was in a city of bright lights and loud-old cars. I was in a run down area. I felt my feet hit the ground. I exhaled. I looked around— I was in a dark area.
I heard giggling up ahead. There were two people; a man and a woman. They were practically on top of eachother against the side of a brick building. The loud cars stopped. I walked over to investigate the only source of life around me. I passed a parking garage and to my left was the building they were against. As I got closer, I gasped.
Mom and Dad?
"Mom? Dad?" I asked and their makeout session was cut short. They both turned around to face me. Their smiles and giggles faded, I gulped. "Don't call us that. You ruined everything for us!" My dad yelled in my face. I bursted into tears. "Why did you have to get me pregnant Ben? You couldn't have just paid for a lap dance, huh!?" My mom started screaming in my dad's face.
"You're repeating in my footsteps! Don't make my mistakes!" My mom yelled in my face. I was shaking and sobbing. "Mom!" I cried as she continued to yell and cry at my dad. "I can't help you! You're on your own!" The guy that was my dad suddenly morphed into Matti's face. "I have to leave, it's for the best I'm sorry." Matti said. I turned to look back at my mom but she was no longer there—it was me. I was crying as Matti spoke words to me.
