Chapter 8: Follower

CHESHIRE'S POV:

            It has been three days since we started the exam. There is something wrong with my brother and that needle guy. I can sense their auras from each other, it only means that my brother is meeting him, do they fight? friendly talks? do they know each other? I need to know what really happens between this two. My brother never brought up the topic of him. Hisoka and I always decide to split up every time, so I don't really know exactly what he is up to. I always thought that Hisoka is only looking after Gon, his new fruit , as he said.

        Cheshire, I'm going now~" Hisoka whispered in my ear. I only answered with a nod. I'm going to follow him later. I'm going to find my target first, mine's just a weakling anyways. I think mine's just the guy with the shotgun thingy, not a big deal.

            Fun fact, It only took me thirty minutes to find and to finish my target. Now, time to track my brother. He's currently in the north of this island and the guy with needles is coming from the west to north. That is good, I might encounter him on the way. I used my ability to get there fast, I even came face to face with other applicants that I killed on the way, poor people, they died not even knowing that they are done. I arrived there, well I guess you can say that I arrived there a little late? Why? because the needle guy is already talking there to my brother. I used my nen ability "time- barrier" so they won't notice me. I can't just use my zetsu freely because those two are different to other people in terms of sensing their surroundings. They'd surely notice me if so.

             " What are you and Cheshire doing here??" the needle guy asked." Ne, Illumi, Cheshire can handle herself now", At first, I got confused at to why that man know my name, during our first encounter, I have not told anyone my name; well, just a fake one. Though, when my brother said his name, every question that I had, finally dissipated. Illumi? So he's Illumi, huh? How preposterous! I have been trying to find him all these years and here I am knowing just now that my brother is still acquainted with him.

         I listened to their rather " private" conversation at the moment, I want to know more. I want to know the truth as to why they lied to me. "You know that my parents don't want me to get close to her! It is possible that if they knew that she's here, they'll kill her." Illumi continued. "Would you let your parents kill her?"Hisoka asked in return. "You know that I don't want her to get hurt, but I know that I can't just disregard and defy my parents like that. being punished by them is nothing for me now, I'm already used to it, but seeing Cheshire being targeted and killed? I can't risk that happening." Illumi replied. "This talk is not going to end up well, don't you think? I can feel that this conversation is going nowhere." "Very well, I'll just go to sleep until the given time limit is up." Illumi added while digging his hole. Just like how we played in the dirt before.

         I left knowing that my brother would be leaving too. So that's it, huh? Illumi never showed himself to me again because of his parents. I'm not mad at him for doing that, he's just concerned. I just can't seem to understand why my brother never told me this. I am very sure that If they ever told me sooner I would understand it and leave Illumi alone for some time , so no one would get hurt. Does my brother not trust me enough? I suffered for nothing then, all these years? I can't believe I got fooled by my brother. I'm going to talk to him later, I'm going to confront him. Are those missions that he go to are also fake? He always looks so suspicious whenever he leaves. That must've been it.
