Chapter 8 : Follower (part 2)

HISOKA'S POV:

               I understand that Illumi just wanted to protect her, but I can't just wee my sister suffering. I can feel it, Cheshire still loves Illumi and she still wants to see him. My sister is a capable girl; I know that she can stand tall against some of the Zoldycks if they ever find the need for a fight; after all' that is one of the reasons as to why we trained hard. I kept reminding myself that I need to be stronger so I can still protect her, come hell or high water. Life is about taking risks here and there; otherwise, you won't get what you want.

CHESHIRE'S POV:

               I confronted my brother that day; we talked it all out and cleared the misunderstanding. One may call it a fight, but it is more of me being loud expressing my opinion about Illumi and my brother being madly calm. I understand why he hid it from me better than before though.

           "So you finally know, huh?" "Explain" "Chill for a moment, deary." "Chill??! You've been hiding things from me for years now." "Okay then, Illumi requested it for your safety and I know that you are not a fool to forget that about your suspicions." "Indeed, but you don't know how I felt during those years. I am strong that time, well not as strong as now but I can definitely deal with those who needed to be dealt with." "Yes, but I am not taking any chance of you getting hurt. After all, we are talking about the Zoldycks here. I made a promise to myself that I will protect you no matter what the cost." This is how the conversation continued, a little recap of what happened yesterday night I guess.

           We're on the next level of the exam now; it's the Tower thingy. I don't really care about the names. There are trapdoors in the flooring of the tower that leads the challengers in their own parts; at least that's what I thought. It's really easy to find one and I'm already starting to do what I have to do. It's a series of mind games and puzzles; there is a twist though, you lose your life if you make a single mistake. I finished it fairly fast, I really wanted to get out of this silly tower so I helped myself and asked the game master if that's it. "Not yet, for we have another visitor that would join us." That's what the guy said. A door opened and it leads me to another room and yes, I'm stuck here waiting for the stupid partner. This weird room that I got in looks so comfortable. There's a bed, sofa, table, and a restroom. I think the comfortable part of the room is just for the waiting; how so? Because there are two metal chairs in a face to face position in the middle of the room, obviously that is where the actual game starts.

                You know the feeling of getting so comfortable in the bed and have someone disturb your rest? That is exactly how I felt that time when I heard the door open and close swiftly. We, finally the stupid partner have appeared. The person seemed to be bored and wanted to get it done immediately as I am. Long jet black hair, skin as white as snow, tall as the tower (no pun intended), muscular but on the skinny side and clothes used as the compartment of the chosen weapon, needles. Yes it is the guy that I dreaded to see right now, Illumi Zoldyck.

              "Illumi..." "Tch; cut the crap. I expect you already know so let's just finish the game already. I still have a lot of things to deal with." "Sure..." "Welcome players. The game is called 'Truth or Lies: Love never dies'. It's a game of memories where the pair will recollect their memories together with each other. Remember, every lie counts a consequence." A monotone voice from the speaker said. "Let's get it over with" I said and well...he just nodded. "You will just pick someone to tell your story and the other will just listen and ask questions. After the other asks questions the story teller must answer truthfully." another voice said from the speakers. We both took our seats on the metal chair. "I'll do the story telling, you ask questions." Illumi suggested to which I had answered with a nod. His suggestion really caught me off guard. I never knew that he will cooperate so easily, especially the topic is about the past.

          "It started when you saved me in the cave when I am in a mission, then you treated my wounds and asked me with those annoying questions of yours. You kept me tied up until I answered." I smiled at the memories. "so, you hated the questions so much, huh?" I asked the rather irrelevant question because it is needed in the game; deep down, I already know that answer to that. "Yes, it is indeed very annoying. You and your brother Hisoka fed me and gave me a place to stay. Before o even noticed it, I became comfortable with you two. We played in the forest, talked about things and practiced assassination and skills" he continued. "Do you regret those things that we did?" I asked again. "Yes, I hated it so much" his reply made me out of my happy mood. That's when I felt that metal wiring that are nen infused that soon surrounded my body and kept me tied in the metal chair. It soon started blasting volts of electricity beyond my electric resistance. It hurts a lot...fucking lot. After a minute or two, it finally stopped; though, the metal wirings that held me didn't let go. "Another lie and another punishment will occur" the voice said. His answer to my question was a lie, huh?

           "Let's continue" Illumi said. "Yes, I must admit that I truly enjoyed our time but then I started feeling weird things, it truly confused and messed up my mind. Before I even noticed, I started to care for you deeply. It didn't last though, because the three of us knew that someone is probably looking for me. A few days after that, one of our butlers appeared. My mind is at absolute debate whether to rebel at my parents and be with you or leave you." "You chose the latter choice, yes?" "Indeed, then before I left, I talked to you and said my feelings. After that I ....we shared a kiss then I said my goodbyes" he finished. "Hey mister game master, that's all. Are we done?" I asked. "The door out will open in a few moments. I congratulate you for completing this fairly easy game I prepared for the both of you."

             "Illumi seemed different when the two of you got out of the tower; I'm guessing that something greatly affected him in the game." "Yes, I think he's not the only one affected". My brother can't seem to stop his gossiper side; he kept on pestering me about him. Well, I ended up telling him.

            "That's definitely a different side of him, opening up like that; but I think he opened up just because of you Cheshire." he replied, still amused of the situation. "You know, that bastard stated a lie just to see what the punishment is and it is totally unfair. I'm the one who's punished and not him." My brother just laughed. "Hey!! It's not easy being electrocuted beyond your capacity level."

               "Jokes aside, Cheshire; what are you planning to do now?" "I still like him brother." "That's pretty obvious" "I'm going to pursue him whether he likes me or not. I want him." "We're going to part ways soon then" "Pretty much, but we'll stay in contact and meet from time to time. I can't even remember the last time that I am parted to you for a long time, so I really doubt that I can stay out of your zone for a very long time, I really love my big brother after all" I said in a rather joking manner. "You need to stay alive then Cheshire; or you won't meet your brother again" he laughed. "Why, Of course brother."

"I want him so he will be mine."
