Despite what everyone says sirius loved Peter, just as much as he did James and remus. It was a different kind of love but he was still a brother to sirius but that just made his betrayel worse.
Now sirius is stuck in azkaban his bestfriend dead, at the hands of his other best friend and his lover thinks he was the traitor.
In azkaban you go crazy, forgetting things and trying to remember as much as possible. Sirius Black wrote everything down in hopes that he wpuld never forget everyone he loved and everyone he lost
