Chapter 1

Jessica POV

Today we are going on an excursion to Dreamworld. I made friends with the new guy. His name's Paul Zimmer. We got on the bus and we talked about what rides we wanted to go on. Paul has never been to Dreamworld because he just moved here from America.

After two hours of sitting on a bus we finally arrived. "What do you want to go on first?" I asked. "The giant drop" he said. "Fine but you have to hold my hand and I might start crying" I said. I was terrified of heights but I promised Paul I would go on whatever he wants. He lauged and agreed. We lined up and after half an hour or so it was our turn.

We got harnessed in and it started to go up. I started hyperventilating when we got to the top. "Are you ok?" Paul asked. I shook my head and tears brimmed my eyes. "It's ok Jess. It'll be over in a sec" he said. I gripped his hand tightly and felt the drop. I screamed and I could hear Paul laughing beside me.

We got off the ride and I turned to Paul who was grinning like an idiot. "That was awesome" he said. "I feel sick" I said. "Are you alright?" He asked. "I'll be fine" I said. We went on a few more rides and then went to eat. We got a pizza to share and we sat down at a table. A few minutes later some guys came up to us. "Paul?" One of them said. "Jason" Paul said smiling. "We haven't seen you for years" another one said. "I know" Paul replied. "Come hang out with us" Jason said. "I don't know" Paul said. "Oh come on" one of them said. "Do you mind Jess?" Paul asked. "Whatever. Just go" I said. "Thanks" he said smiling at me. He went off with his long lost friends and I sat there staring at the pizza.

"Aww is Jessica all alone?" Brittany asked. "What do you want?" I asked. Brittany was the most popular girl in our grade and she was a b*tch so she obviously didn't care that I was alone. "Do you want to hang out with us?" Her friend Carly asked. "I guess so" I said throwing away the pizza.

We went on a few rides and they pretty much ignored me. We wondered around and we stopped at an area that was full of sand. Brittany started flicking sand at me. "Will you stop?" I asked. She smirked and kept going. I put the finger up at her and walked away.

I saw Carly and Brittany going over to one of the chaperones, and they started talking to him. I quickly want over to them just as they were telling him what I did. "Is that true Jessica?" He asked. "No. Of course not!" I lied. I went to get up and go somewhere else. "Jessica stay here" he said. I sighed and sat down again. I sat there for about ten minutes before I saw Paul walking past with his head down. "Can I go yet?" I asked. "Fine" he said. I got up and ran to catch up with Paul.

"Paul stop" I said. He kept walking. I grabbed his arm and made him stop. "Paul what's wrong?" I asked. "Nothing" he snapped. "Please tell me what's wrong" I said. We kept walking. "I stole something" he said. "Why?" I asked shocked. "My friends made me" he sighed. "Does anyone know?" I asked. He shook his head. "I told them I was going to the toilet and I put the stuff back" he said. "Well that's good" I said. "I'm really sorry for ditching you" he said. I hugged him for the first time and it felt good. He hugged me back and I smiled to myself.

"Can I show you something?" He asked. I nodded and he grabbed my hand. He started running, dragging me behind him. When he stopped running I realised we were out the front of dreamworld.

"Where are we going?" I asked. "It's a surprise" he said. We started walking for a little while and then we came to a petting zoo. I grinned and Paul paid for us to get in. "You don't have to pay for me Paul" I said. "I know" he said.

We looked at the animals and we fed goats and sheep and then we went into the pen with the pigs in it. We fed them as well and a pig started running towards me. Paul picked me up just as it was going to knock me over. I laughed and he put me down. "Thanks for saving me from being attacked by a pig" I said laughing. Paul started laughing as well and we fed a few more animals.

After a little while we left and it was time to get back on the bus. I sat with Paul and listened to his iPod. "Do you like it in Australia?" I asked. "Yeah but I miss Danny and my other friends" he said. "How long had it been since you saw those guys today?" I asked.

"About five years" he said. "Whoa" I said. He laughed and nodded. "Did they make you do things before they came here?" I asked. He shook his head. "No" he said. "Can I ask why you ditched me today?" I asked. "Jess I told you I was sorry about that" he said. "I know. I'm just wondering" I said. "They didn't want you to come with us. I asked if you could but they said no. I'm still really sorry" he said guiltily.

"Paul it's ok" I said hugging him. "What do you want to do later?" He asked. "A few people are coming back to my place. You can come if you want" I said. "That'd be great" he said smiling at me. I was exhausted after the crazy day we had and soon fell asleep.

Paul POV

I can't believe what an idiot I was today! I'm surprised Jess forgave me after I ditched her. Jess had fallen asleep and had her head on my shoulder. I stroked her hair hoping I wouldn't wake her up. Jess was my best friend in Australia. I had moved here 2 months ago and she was the person that had to show me around the school for the day.

Jess was asleep for the rest of the trip. "Jess" I said quietly trying to wake her up. "What?" She asked opening her eyes. "We're here" I said. She nodded and realised her head was still on my shoulder. "Sorry" she said blushing. "Don't worry about it" I said. We got off the bus and I drove her home. "Do you want to stay for a little while?" She asked. "Ok" I said getting out of the car with her.

We went inside and no one was home. She gave me a quick tour and then we went into her room. "What do you want to do?" Jess asked. "Truth or dare" I suggested. "Ok" she replied. "Truth or dare?" I asked. "Truth" she said. "Who do you like?" I asked. "No one" she said. My heart sank. "Oh ok" I said. "Truth or dare Pauly?" Jess asked. "Dare" I said. "Go outside and scream I love Jessica" she said.

I went outside onto the driveway. "I love Jessica!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. I got a few strange looks from people walking past. I went back inside and saw Jess laughing. "I could hear that from here" she said. I laughed and sat down. "So Jess, truth or dare?" I asked. "Dare" she said. I thought about it. "Kiss me" I said. "Are you serious?" She asked. I nodded. Se leaned over and gave me a quick peck on the lips before going back to her spot. Best kiss ever. I looked at Jess and she was looking down and blushing.

"Are you hungry or thirsty?" She asked suddenly standing up. "Do you have coke?" I asked. "Yep. I'll go get it" she said walking away quickly. I leaned back against the bed. A minute later she came back with two cans of vanilla coke. "Is vanilla alright?" She asked. I nodded and she gave it to me.

We watched tv until the doorbell rang. "I'll be right back" Jess said leaving the room.
