Chapter 17

Jess POV

Almost a month later

I taped up a box and turned to Paul. "Thanks for helping me pack" I said. "It's alright. I can't believe you're leaving in two days" Paul said sadly. "I don't want to leave" I said. "I'm going to miss you so much" he said, walking over to me and hugging me. "Let's not spend my last two days being sad. I want to do something fun after we finish this" I said. Paul smiled weakly and nodded. I felt a sudden urge to be sick. I heaved and thankfully nothing came up.

I ran to the bathroom as I felt another wave coming on. This time I was throwing up like there was no tomorrow. I felt Paul hold my hair and gently rub my back. After about ten minutes I felt like I could stand without throwing up. I stood up and brushed my teeth.

"Are you okay baby?" Paul asked with a concerned look on his face. "I'm alright now" I said. "Was it something you ate?" he asked. "Probably" I replied. Paul kissed my forehead and we went back to packing. We were up to the last box and just putting away the little things that I had lying around.

I picked up a photo of Lani, Justin, Paul and I at school. "Remember this?" I asked as I looked at it.

~Flashback~

"Guys let's take a photo of all of us together" Lani said. "Why?" Justin asked. "Because I want to be able to remember these things after school finishes" she replied as she pulled her phone out of her bag. "I want to do it as well" I said. Lani smiled at me and then turned to Paul. "Do you want to be in it as well Paul?" Lani asked. "Do you want me to be in it?" Paul asked. "Of course. You're our new best friend" I said. Paul smiled and nodded. Eventually Justin agreed and we took a few selfies. "These are fabulous" I said as we looked at them. "They are" Lani agreed, "I'll send them to all of you".

"Yeah. That was a fun day" Paul replied smiling. "I don't want to put all of this stuff into a box" I said sadly. Paul nodded in agreement. We put more stuff into the box before Paul showed me another photo. It was a photo of us kissing while we were standing in a line.

~flashback~

Paul, Lani and I were lined up in a single file line to buy tickets into the school fair. I was in the middle, Lani was in front and Paul was behind me. Lani was turned around so she was facing us and we were talking about what rides we wanted to go on.

Paul hugged me from behind and leaned down a little to put his chin on my shoulder. "Awww, you guys are so cute" Lani said. I blushed and smiled, turning to look at him. He grinned at me and then kissed me. Paul pulled away and Lani was just smiling at us.

"You guys make me even more sad about being forever alone" Lani said. "Lani you'll find someone. You're an amazing person" Paul said. "Shut up" she said. "Lani he's right" I said. "Thanks guys" she said.

I smiled at the memory. "I love that photo" I said. "Me too. You look so beautiful" Paul said. "Thanks" I said. "Do you think if I kidnap you your parents will go on their own?" Paul asked as he put the photo into a box. "I wish" I sighed.

We finished packing up my stuff. I looked around the room. All that was left in there was the air mattress I was sleeping on, the boxes we had just packed and a suitcase that I had my clothes in. "Is the bed comfy?" Paul asked. "No. It's horrible" I said. "We should stay somewhere tonight" Paul said. "That'd be nice. I don't think my parents would agree to it though" I said. "We can ask them" Paul said. I nodded and we left the room to find my parents.
