Harry had filled us in on the events of the forest, and after a worrying encounter with the twins in the Owlery (I promised I'd find out what's going on), we headed to Moody's office where we're sitting now.
"Sorry, did she not know about the map?" Mad-Eye points at me after telling us he summoned it last night but couldn't find Crouch. Harry and Ron had instantly looked at me with wide eyes.
"Of course I know about it you plonkers," I scoff at the two boys, "Fred and George are my best friends. Plus, Filch took the map back from them in their third year and I nicked it back."
"But we were in first year." Hermione says, shocked.
"I know." I grin. We return our attention to Moody.
"So he did Disapparate?" Ron asks.
"Ron, for the last time! You can't Disapparate in the grounds. There are other ways he could've disappeared though, aren't there Professor?"
"You're another one who might think about a career as an Auror. Mind works the right way, Granger."
She tries to contain a smile.
After a few more minutes of conversation, Moody dismisses us and tells us we should forget about this and Harry needs to focus on the third task, which is a maze, but of course, Hermione, Ron and I aren't meant to know that.

While everyone enjoys the summer weather outside, the four of us are practicing stunning and disarming in the Gryffindor common room.
Ron starts to complain about being sore all over, so I step in. After Harry stuns and disarms me a few times, I realise Ron's right - it's hard to land on the cushions.
"Ok, new tactic," I groan, standing up and straightening my robe before it falls over my head, "Try and protect yourself when I attack you. Dunno what's gonna hit you in the maze, it's probably a good idea to practice shielding."
"Alright." Harry agrees.
We draw our wands and Hermione counts us in.
"Flipendo!" I shout at the same time as Harry yells, "Protego!".
My spell easily breaks through his weak shield, throwing him across the room.
"Yup, that's what we're working on." Hermione orders, and we spend the next hour perfecting his shield charm until all three of our combined attacks are deflected.

Lunch ends as we head off to class, Hermione and I to Arithmacy, Harry and Ron to Divination.
After class, something comes into my memory as I see Neville walking with his head down through the halls.
"I'll catch up with you later." I say to Hermione, who nods and waves before going the other way.
"Hey, Neville?"
"Oh, hi Brinley." He says, looking up with a smile.
"Wanna talk a walk?"
"S-sure."
We leave the crowds and walk quietly outside.
