There was something about those kind of nights, the warm buzz coursing through her from too much wine and the occasional tequila shot, the twinkly lights strung up above them like gigantic stars against the deep blue backdrop of the sky, the wintery chill that had prompted Alex bringing over his suit jacket which was now draped around her shoulders and smelt soothingly like him, which reminded Izzy just how far they'd come and how deeply in love with him she felt.

It was the realisation that she'd never felt like this, that the pride and the adoration she had for Alex at the end of another tour had melted into one gigantic puddle of sentiment and the excitement that their next steps together were in motion with no regard for the logistics or the pace at which their relationship was progressing, only the fact that they knew that they would be together indefinitely and wanted to take every opportunity there was to enjoy it.

Each time they thought of each other, they'd lock eyes across the party and would zone out of the separate conversations they were having to gaze at each other shamelessly.

Whilst Izzy admired the sharpness of his jaw, natural pout of his lips and the way his eyes shone under the lights, Alex's stomach would flip over and over like it was the first time he was seeing her, would long to be close to her again, to feel her pulse raise under his touch, wanted desperately to hold her against him as they swayed to the beat of the music, the tunes from the speakers having faded into something softer and slower as the post-tour celebrations rolled gradually into the early hours of the next day.

After finishing his drink with a hard swallow and noticing the lack of red liquid in her own glass which she elegantly swung in her hand then placed down, he excused himself from the conversation, placed his own empty glass on a table and sauntered to her from behind. The closer he got, the deeper her sparkling laughter affected him, the more her gentility drew him in and he was holding his hands out in front of him needily as he approached her, could hardly wait to touch her.

When she turned her head and realised that Alex was no longer in the spot he had been before, Izzy knew he was coming, could already smell his overbearing cologne and the slight whiff of cigarette smoke which aroused her more than it should have. She counted three seconds in her head then held her breath as Alex's hands came into contact with the satiny material of her dress, his palms pressing flat to her stomach to draw her backwards. His chest was pressed to her back, the heat rising from it even through his suit jacket making her sink back into him.

"Are yeh 'avin' fun, me love?" he drawled thickly, his accent thickened by both the alcohol he'd consumed and the longing he felt for her, his desperation. His thumbs traced her hipbones to keep her pushed against him, the exact outline of them a shape he could have drawn from memory.

It made her feel lightheaded. Izzy nodded wordlessly before she could respond, thankful that the conversation she had been participating in had moved on to something else so that she didn't have to pay attention. "I've been missing you," she hummed quietly, closing her eyes for a split second.

Alex couldn't hide his need for her, the way the softness in her voice affected him and he sighed shakily. With one thumb continuing to trace the outline of her hip bone, the pair of them swaying slightly, he raised his other hand and stroked her hair gently back over her shoulder, his fingers caught in the bouncy, dark curls. Her neck was exposed to him invitingly, the eternally tanned and slightly freckled stretch behind and below her ear a place he knew always had her weak for him. He licked his lips.

"Yeh look fookin' stunnin' tonight, Izzeh, darlin'," he almost growled, having admired the way the fabric clung to her body too many times, his need to compliment her brilliance never subdued. "Lovelehier than ever."

"Alex," she hummed. She was more than distracted now, having given up on whatever the girls were talking about, whatever Zara was saying as she puffed on a cigarette, because they either didn't notice or had chosen not to.

He ghosted his lips over her skin, his shaky breath tickling her neck, nose pressed into her and she felt her knees buckling at his touch, the tenderness in his actions, his refusal to hide his affection.

Alex was weak for the way she moved into him, the way he knew he affected her and the dreaminess of what they were building together. Only a week ago he'd asked her to live with him and he hadn't been able to stop playing the memory back in his mind, had naturally recalled it in every quiet moment, had even added it to the supercut highlight reel of his life. He had told her he'd move wherever she needed him to be and now that the tour was over he had no limitations, couldn't stand being apart from her any longer, had promised her the world and had never felt more content with his life in the moment she'd agreed to it.

"Izzeh... can weh leave?" he whispered suddenly. "I wanna take yeh teh bed..."

Izzy closed her eyes as he pressed a wet, delicate kiss against her neck, brushing his lips against a particularly sensitive spot he'd discovered during their first time and had used to his advantage ever since. She let him kiss there a couple more times before she squeaked and found her voice.

"Alexander..." she whispered shakily, turning her head to look back at him, his lips detaching from her neck, his eyes dark and clouded over.

"Izzeh?" he hummed as she met his gaze, the dazzling blue never failing to make his heart leap. His hand trailed from her shoulder where it had been pressed down to her wrist and he stroked his fingertips against her pulse, smiling nonchalantly, pridefully.

Izzy turned around fully and leant in to rest her forehead against his, squared her hips with his, her hands pressed to his chest as they gently swayed. The smile twitching in her lips was playful, filled with excitement and promise for this night and every one to come after. "I'll go anywhere with you..."
