When I woke up the next morning I didn't get up from my comfortable position at Reg's bed until I absolutely had to pee. Afterwards I went to my room and found a letter at my bedroom table. Kreacher must have brought it up here. I was amused by the thought that Reg was probably up all night writing this letter for it to be delivered this early.
I opened it and instantly notice it was written hastily with crooked letters and ink stains.
Dear Zar...
I'm relieved to finally hear from you. I'm glad you're okay. Well... okay enough to write me back at least. Don't think I'm going to buy that shit that everything went fine. I'm here when you're ready to talk about it.
Marvel asked Ruby out yesterday, she refused... now they aren't talking to each other. I'm not sure what happened but Marvel is brushing it off like it never happened.
Has everything gone well with my mother? I hope she isn't nasty to you. My father should be back there the day after tomorrow. Don't get in trouble, please.
See you soon,
- RegI wrote a short response and went downstairs to eat. I wondered about the things Reg had written about Ruby. I guess she didn't like Marvel after all.
I don't know how I could explain everything to Reg once I see him. He wouldn't pressure me to talk about it on purpose but I felt obligated to tell him everything. He's not going to take it well if I tell him Zacharias used the cruciatus curse on me.
I wonder if my uncle had told Orion about my visit there. They were close after all. Well, as close as two old, bitter men can be, I suppose.
I slept that night in Reg's bed again. I tried to sleep in my own bed at first. I really did. But after hours and hours of tossing around in my bed frustrated, I gave up and sneaked into his room.
The next morning I was woken up by a knock. I sleepily lifted my head and croaked out; "come in." I regretted it even before the door opened as I remembered I was in fact in Reg's bedroom, not in mine.
Kreacher came in the room with it's usual disgrunteled expression. Kreacher had been serving the Black's as long as I remember and it's presence was usually unnoticable to me, as it didn't really make it it's priority to serve me.
"Miss Avery, good morning," it bowed slightly as it greeted me.
"Morning," I anwsered confused. It didn't usually take up conversation with me.
"Would you like today's letters to be delivered to Master Regulus's room or your room Miss?" It asked with a hoarse voice while looking at the ground. I was suprised it didn't say anything else about me staying in Reg's room. I thought it'd disturb him.
"Uh, my room. Thank you," I answer and shift slightly in the bed where I was still sitting under the covers.
"If it is alright Miss, I thought Kreacher could ask how Master Regulus is," It looked up at me. I furrowed my brows as I contemplated it's question. I knew Regulus was respectful towards Kreacher and Kreacher was slightly fond of him. At least Reg doesn't despise it like Sirius does. Sirius hates Kreachers blind commitment to his parents and how it thinks so highly of the Black family.
"Regulus is fine. He's doing good in Hogwarts," I tell shortly.
"Thank you Miss, Kreacher is glad to hear that," it hummed and left with another slight bow. That was weird. I huff and throw myself back into sleeping position on Reg's bed.
The letters Kreacher was talking about. Shit, I want to read them now, I can't wait. He wrote more than one? Does that mean that something happened? I rushed out of the bed and to my room.
