I really enjoyed the new DADA Professors teaching. Today after class would be the first fighting lesson. He was keeping it for all who signed up, no matter what house or what year you were in if you were at least 15 years old.

Alastor Moody was a known auror. I'd seen his name on the Daily Prophet. We'd gone over many useful spells during classes so I had high expectations for these extra lessons.

I went to see the sign up sheet with Ruby so I'd know who exactly was coming there.

The other students were already at the wide hall. They'd cleared up space for the lesson. I walked to Abraxas and Theo, sending a quick smile towards Lily, Marlene and the Marauders.

Alastor Moody was a tall man with sharp wits. His dirty blonde hair curled to his shoulders, and he was dressed in many layers of robes and weaponry. We could wear whatever we wanted since it was outside of school day. I had black cargo pants in which I had tucked several knifes to.

I'd left the dagger which I used to kill that man to my dorm. It was hidden under my matress, it had been there ever since that night. I wonder if there'll be a day when using that dagger won't make me want to vomit again.

I also had a short white tank top. On top I had a thin leather jacket to cover my injury on my right arm. It had healed nicely, but it will leave a permanent scar.

Professor McGonagall was there to assist Professor Moody how combat spells worked. After that Moody paired us and showed us practical fighting stances. We'd learn about magic well enough in DADA classes, this was more about physical fighting which I was all for.

I was paired with Abraxas, much to his delight. For now, wait until he realizes I've been training for years now. I looked over to Regulus who had been paired with Theo. They both had strained faces and I hoped Regulus wouldn't grind Theo into dust.

Moody showed us a simple way to take someone down. A move I'd perfected long ago. I took Abraxas down several times, he didn't even stand a chance. Same thing with Regulus, but he was a bit harsher in taking Theo down, earning few groans from him.

I saw that Lily and Marlene were paired and both of them were still trying to learn the movement. James and Sirius were mostly laughing about this, carcking jokes.

I showed Abraxas how to do it and he finally managed to take me down. I could've stopped him but the exited look on his face brought me more comfort than the fact I could've gotten out of his hold.

Moody had circled among us, watching our skills and offering help to those who still hadn't managed to bring their partner down.

"Miss Avery and Mr Black, you seem to know this well. I take it this isn't your first time," Professor Moody called out to us from the fron of the room.

"No," I smiled slightly, Regulus nodding in agreement.

"Would you mind showing me and you classmates the extent of your skills?" He asked, sizing us up. I wasn't sure what his goal was, but I wasn't passing up the opportunity to beat Regulus's ass infront of everyone.
