Summer 1976

When I woke up, Reg was gone. I remembered how last night I had drank a whole bottle of wine and afterwards Reg had found me. I remember him tucking me under the covers and I had asked him to stay. I fell asleep next to him, peacefully. But now he was gone.

I walked downstairs to the kitchen, and sure enough, Sirius and Reg were both sitting there. They had been talking quietly, but stopped once they noticed me.

"Why haven't you already left to Potter's?" I asked sleepily. I rubbed my eyes, trying to wake myself up complitely.

"I'm not going. I didn't want to leave after yesterday," Sirius told me.

"Don't just not go because of me!" I complained.
"I'm fine. Honestly."

"Regulus told me about last night, you're not fine," Sirius argued and I glared at Reg.

"And? Is this some kind of a intervention?" I scoffed.

"Do you need one?" Sirius asked.

"I just wanted some fucking tea," I glared at them angrily and stormed off to my room.

I know Reg was trying to help me, but I really didn't want him to. I just wanted to forget and move past this.

I sat on my bed and pulled out my notebook under my matress to get my mind off of things. I had written many new songs, I should test them out with my magic. I hadn't practised my magic in ages and I kind of missed the feeling it gave me.

I had time to scribble down only a few lines before Sirius and Reg came in my room, carrying a tray. I opened my mouth speechless once I realized they had made me tea, sadwiches and cut up fruits.

"You didn't have to do that," I gasped as they set the tray down on my bed.

"We wanted to. We're sorry," Reg said and sat beside me. Sirius sat too and poured tea for all of us.

"Thank you, I'm so hungry," I admitted and took a sandwich. "You really should go to James's Sirius. He'll be so disappointed if you don't go."

"I don't want to leave you here."

I smiled and looked at Reg. He nodded and smiled at me, knowing exactly what I was thinking.

"We'll just have to come with you then," I grinned and Sirius looked at us extatic.

"You will?"

"Sure, why not? You weren't the only one who got invited."

We travelled through floo powder. I informed Walburga we would be going, and she was mostly fine with it. Me and Reg wouldn't be spending the night though.

James, Remus and Peter were already infront of the fireplace waiting for us. James practically jumped on Sirius the moment we got out of the fireplace. James exitedly showed me and Reg around his house. Then I saw an elderly couple smiling at us.

"You must be Regulus, Sirius's brother, and you must be Zara," the woman spoke and I freezed as she hugged me warmly. I slowly put my hands around her, relaxing in her arms.

"Yes, it's nice to meet you ma'am and you sir," I smiled back at her and nodded politely at the man.

"Oh honey, call us Euphemia and Fleamont," she smiled brightly.

"We'll be upstairs mum," James urged us to come with him after he kissed his mother on the cheek. I wondered what it would have been like to grow up in a home like this. What would it be like to have parents like that, who raised such an gentle and loving boy.
