It was still cold yet somewhat warm as you walked through the forest with your zombie companions and Knight.

Ichi still lets you use his jacket since zombies do not die from the coldness but of course, anything but a zombie could.

You sighed as you led the way towards better shelter and even more food sources.

There were many animals like rabbits, squirrels, and a few field mice but there was no way you could capture them easily with just a kitchen.

That is unless you were really desperate to eat badly and then your stomach grumbled its desperation.

Suddenly, Knight saw a mouse and chased at the right, catching and bringing it back to you.

Your stomach seemed to be a command or something because you did not even say one or it could be the loyalty between human and animal that pet lovers talked about.

"Is this for me?", you grabbed the mice from Knight's mouth and examined, checking for any infection.

Then after your examination, you gave Knight a pat on the head while thanking him.

"Hey guys, look what Knight brought--", when you turned to talk to the six zombies, they were gone except for Todo.

You looked at him then asked in concern, "Where are the others, Todo?"

"...there.."

He pointed towards the forest but there were nothing trees and bushes, no zombies in sight.

"We have to go get them--", you were about to walk in the direction that Todo pointed at but he grabbed your arm.

You wondered why he stopped you until he groaned out, "...back...soon.."

"Are you sure?"

He nodded his head to you then you sighed and said, "Alright, we will wait here."

Todo looked relieved by your decision as you sat down on the dirt ground, hardly any grass in sight.

You waited patiently for them to return while Knight hunted and brought back small animals.

Looking around trees and bushes, you decided to get up and build a fire while cautiously checking your surroundings.

You start gathering sticks and find a few tree branches, getting some stones as well, trying to get your mind off the other zombies.

Then you placed the sticks down in a pile and plucked some grass to place under the sticks, flicking one stone on the another to try and create a spark.

Finally, you saw a spark on the grass with smoke raising it so you blew on it, getting the sticks to burn up in the process into a fire.

You decided to save the tree branches just for the nighttime and use some extra sticks to cook the dead animals that Knight caught.

Of course, after the eighth hunt that Knight brought back, you thanked and instructed him to take a break.

On your command, Knight followed it as you fed him one of the dead field mice, then sitting back down to rest.

Although your heart and mind were not rested, you still kept thinking about the other five zombies.

Todo looked out for any zombies in the area then you heard him groan, "..they...back.."

You stood up in surprise and looked in the direction that Todo pointed in, it was a bit of a blur at first but they finally came into view.

As they were getting closer, you noticed items in their hands but you could not figure what they were.

Jyushi brought back a huge tree branch that had apples on it, surprisingly, he was the only zombie you knew had strength.

"Is this for me?", you asked as he handed it to you but you knew the branch would be too heavy so you thanked and told him to place it somewhere nearby.

He agreed and walked to place it somewhere nearby then Ichi came walking behind him with an old cat plush.

It looked cute despite being dirty and you thanked him from the bottom of your heart.

Ichi sat next to you while fixing his jacket around you, Choro brought you a few acorns which looked to be edible.

You thanked him with a smile as you placed the acorns inside the bucket that had a few holes.

Next up, it was Kara's turn to give you something and that was a dead rose bouquet, you smiled and thanked him kindly for such a lovely gift despite it being outdated.

Then Oso came up to you with a medium sized autumn leaf, it shaped like a somewhat heart in its reddish and orangish color.

You started thinking about what day it was even but either way, you didn't need the whole valentine's day tradition to know that you had love.

Smiling as you looked around at the six zombies, thinking that you had the love of friends then looked at Knight, the love of a fellow pet.

All in all, together with yourself made a family, probably a weird combination family but still one nevertheless.

You thanked him happily, "Oso- You all are the best. Now let's eat."

The six zombies were handed the mice that Knight caught earlier and you wiped one of the apples that Jyushi had on the tree branch.

You smiled while taking a bite of the sweet apple, sweet just like the family you have here.
