Leah was glad to be back at home and out of the lab. Leah and Lucas hadn't talked yet, and the silence was killing both of them.

Hanging up the phone Hopper sighed.

"They didn't believe you did they?" Dustin asked.

"We'll see."

"We'll see? We can't just sit here while those things are loose!" Mike argued.

"We stay here, and we wait for the help." Hopper stated.

The five kids sat at the table, engulfed in silence. Until Mike got up and walked over to where Bobs rubic cube was sitting.

"Did you guys know that Bob was the founding member of Hawkins AV?" Mike said.

"Really?" Lucas said.

"He petitioned the school to start it and everything. And then he had a fund raiser for equipment. Mr. Clarke learned everything from him. Pretty awesome right?"

"Yeah." Lucas and Dustin said at the same time.

Walking back over to the table Mike set the rubric cube down. "We can't let him die in vain."

"What do you want to do, Mike?" Dustin questioned.
"The chiefs right on this. We can't stop those Demo dogs on our own."

"Demo dogs?" Max asks.

"Demogorgan...dogs...demo dogs. It's like a compound. It's like a play on words you know-"

"Okay." Max cut him off.

"I mean when it was just Dart maybe." Dustin started.

"But there's an army now." Lucas said.

"Precisely."

"His army." Mike said, and suddenly Leah caught on to what Mike was thinking.

"What do you mean?" Steve asked.

"He means." Leah spoke up. "It's his army. Maybe if we stop him, we can stop his army, too."

The group shared a look now understanding what they had to do. Running into Will's room Mike picked up the drawing of the shadow monster.

"The shadow monster." Said Dustin.

"It got Will that day on the field. The doctor said it was like a virus, it infected him." Mike explained.

"And so this virus, it's connecting him to the tunnels?" Max asked.

"To the tunnels, monsters, the Upside Down, everything."

"Whoa. Slow down. Slow down." Steve said.

"Okay, so, the shadow monsters inside everything. And if the vines feel something like pain, then so does Will." Mike stated.

"And so does Dart." Lucas said.

"Yeah. Like what Mr. Clarke taught us. The hive mind."

"Hive mind?" Steve questioned.

"A collective consciousness. It's a super organism." Dustin explained.

Taking the drawing from Mike Leah spoke. "And this is the thing that controls everything. It's the brain."

"Like the mind flayer." Said Dustin.

The three boys were in sync now but the other three were not.

Pulling out a D & D book Dustin began to explain. "The mind flayer."

"What the hell is that?" Hopper asked.

"It's a monster from an unknown dimension. It's so ancient that it doesn't even know it's true home. Okay it enslaves races of other dimensions, by taking over their brains using its highly developed psionic powers."
