Violets POV:
We got in Jacquelyn's car. I sat in the front with Bea in my lap, and Klaus and Sunny sat in the back. It was quite cramped but anything was better than that creepy trolley ride.
The first couple minutes of what would turn out to be an especially long car ride were filled with silence as we waited for Jacqueline to say something.
"Um... You said you had things to tell us?" my brother asked.
That seemed to snap Jacqueline out of her thoughts.
"Oh, yes! Of course! Um, where do I start?" she chuckled to herself, "Now, don't freak out when I say this but, my colleagues and I have decided to take you back to Prufrock Prep."
"Prufrock?" I asked with concern lacing my voice.
"Yes, and I should tell you that many things have improved since you were there last. Some inspectors came and turned the whole place around. Everything's changed. They hired some new teachers, some of which are volunteers, the subjects and classes are more normal than they were, and everyone gets to live in a dorm. However, you will have to live in a not-as-fancy dorm since your parents weren't able to sign the consent form. It's not bad, two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room."
This was definitely not the same Prufrock we had been to just over a year ago. And in fact, I was actually a bit excited.
"And there's a small daycare a little bit off to the side where Sunny and Beatrice will live."
"They won't live with us?" my brother asked.
"No, but they will live close, with trusted adults, and you can visit them any time," she informed us.
"Oh," I said. I would miss not having the two of them around.
I think Jacqueline could tell that my brother and I weren't quite okay with this so she continued.
"But you won't be alone. There's a girl, who you have met before, Fiona Widdershins, who will be living with you. Fiona's stepfather and brother thought it would be best if she could live on land, interact with other kids, and get a proper education. Her brother also knew that you had met and insisted that she live with the two of you so she wouldn't be completely alone.""Oh, Fiona," I said. The two of us didn't have the best relationship. But that was a year ago, I'm sure by now we could put everything aside and make amends. I was also aware of the fact that she and my brother had a complicated relationship, but I figured we'd cross that bridge when we came to it.
"And, " Jacqueline added, "once we find them, and we will, we plan on having the Quagmire triplets live with you."
I perked up at this bit of information. I had known the Quagmires for a short time, but I could tell that if we had been able to have a bit more time together, we'd have been very close.
"And you won't go to Prufrock until you graduate. In two years, you will be moved to a small town outside the city called Stain'd By The Sea. It was deserted many years ago but has been under construction for a while now. Mostly volunteers will live there, but we can't control who moves where. Speaking of graduating, we figured since it's been a while since you've gotten any form of education, you will all be starting off in the eighth grade. Now, I understand this is the grade that you would have been in normally by now, Klaus, but we decided that you were probably smart enough to catch up on your own. And I know that it may not make a whole lot of sense, seeing as you two, the Quagmires, and Fiona are all different ages and really shouldn't be in the same grade, but I thought it'd be best to let you all have most of your classes together." I nodded. I didn't know what to say. Everything was happening so fast.
