Quigley's POV:

We couldn't stay in our dorm over the summer so we moved in with Jake and Cleo who mostly worked during the day but trusted us enough to leave us home alone. They lived in the town down the road from Prufrock Prep in a nice house with three spare bedrooms and a pool. I still shared a room with Klaus and my brother, my sister still shared with Fiona and Violet, and Sunny and Beatrice slept in the third spare. My siblings and I started working at the cafe with Fiona and Violet. It wasn't every day, but on the days we did work, Klaus stayed home with Sunny and Beatrice. I don't think he minded. In fact, I think he missed them when we were in school despite seeing them on weekends and some nights after class. On the days we weren't at work, we did puzzles, played games, watched movies, and swam.

A few weeks into summer, we decided to spend the day swimming. Violet and my sister were on floats talking about something or another, Sunny and Bea were playing with sidewalk chalk near the back door to the house, and I was next to Duncan and Klaus. However as they conspired, I watched Fiona as she sat on the edge of the pool with her feet in the water.

"They look far too peaceful," my brother told Klaus.

"Who? Our sisters?"

"Mhm. We need to put a stop to it."

"Put a stop to what?"

"Their peace."

"And how do you suggest we do that?"

"Cannon ball!" Duncan whisper-yelled as he punched the water in slo-mo.

"Ohh, I get it."

"Just follow my lead," Duncan said as he and Klaus moved towards the pool steps, "Quigley, you coming?"

"No, you two go ahead," I said, only half paying attention. I was still watching Fiona.

I had noticed that she hadn't got into the pool, only sat on the edge.

Duncan moved back over to me, putting his head next to mine to see what I was looking at. He chuckled before saying, "Don't burn holes into the side of her head."

I glared at him. "Don't you have some girls to torture?"

"We're not torturing them!" Klaus defended, "Let's think of it more like a prank."

"Then don't you have some girls to prank?"

"As a matter of fact, yes," said Duncan.

I swam over to Fiona as Duncan and Klaus crept around the edge of the pool, trying not to be noticed by their targets.

"Watch this," I told her.

Duncan and Klaus took a running start before ambushing Izzie and Violet's chat session, knocking them off their floats.

"Klaus! Duncan!" they both shrieked.

Fiona and I laughed as the girls chased their brothers around the pool, eventually making their way over to us.

"Were you in on this?" my sister asked me.

"I might have heard something about it," I told her before she splashed me.

"Don't worry," my brother assured, "he was preoccupied."

Fiona nudged my shoulder. "With what?" she asked.

Klaus and Duncan shared a look. "Oh nothing," Klaus sighed and they laughed.

Fiona tried kicking them but they managed to dodge her attack.

"I'm bored!" Violet whined, "Wanna play sharks and minos?"

"Duh!" my sister said, and the two of them swam to the opposite end of the pool, followed by Klaus and Duncan.
