AU- High school, Virgil and Logan are brothers

“Okay, Roman,” Chad said, getting his attention. “Truth or dare?”

“Dare, obviously,” Roman responded, being the brave knight he is.

“I dare you to go on a date with…” He looked around the cafeteria. Roman  rolled his eyes. This wasn’t the first time he had gotten this dare.

Brad whispered in Chad’s ear.

“Oh! With Virgil Smarht!” Chad exclaimed quietly as Virgil didn’t hear.

This would be the first time he had gotten this dare for a guy.

Don’t get me wrong, he was okay with it, hell, it was a relief. But he’d never been on a date before. And he didn’t even know what Virgil looked like, he had only ever heard stories about how funny it was when he got picked on.

Once they had brought back his broken headphones, which were black and had many drawings on them in white paint marker. It honestly broke Roman’s heart, it looked like they took hours of work.

“Sure. But I don’t even know what he looks like,” Roman said, looking around the cafeteria.

“You know the corner table where Patton Hart and Logan Smarht sit?” Brad says, pointing to the table on the opposite side of them.

“Yes…?” Roman said.

Patton and Logan were pretty well known for being a couple. Rather, well hated for being a couple. Sorry, I mean ‘a couple.’ They weren’t dating, everyone thought they were, for obvious reasons. They were both gay, Logan attended every sports game to support Patton even though he hated sports, and Patton came to every quizbowl tournament even though he found that kind of stuff kind of boring.

That said, Patton was kind of everyone’s friend as long as you were generally nice, so Roman got along with him fine and actually talked to him pretty often at games where he’d had enough of his friends. Teammates, rather.

“Okay, well, it’s that emo guy who sits with them,” Brad said. Roman looked over, seeing the guy they were talking about.

From the distance, he looked like an emo nightmare. He had a purple ripped shirt on, black jacket with purple plaid patches, ripped black skinny jeans, and knock off doc martens with purple laces.
Okay, at least he wasn’t flirting with a straight guy. I mean, maybe he was, maybe he didn’t know the shoelace code, he did seem to just like purple.
Speaking of which, his hair was also a great shade of purple. By his feet was a jack skellington covered bookbag, that Roman kind of loved.

“Fine,” Roman said, figuring he’d ask him out later. But Chad and Brad just kept staring at Roman expectedly. “You want me to ask him out right now?”

“Duh! That’s part of the game, you have to do at least part of the dare right now,” Chad exclaimed. Roman sighed and stood up.

As he got closer to the table, his gay panic increased. This guy was actually kind of hot.
His jawline was strong, and he had this smile on his face. A genuine, cute smile. A rarity in this dumbass town.

He noticed that he had blue ear buds plugged into his phone (which had a jack and sally silhouette on it, but what was usually black was rainbow), one was in his ear while the other dangled in the air. He guessed that they were Patton’s, seeing that his headphones were broken.

“It’s really cute,” Virgil said, fidgeting with something on his wrist.

“Yeah, but now I have a Sally charm that I have no idea what to…” Patton drifted off, seeing Roman approaching their table. “Hey, Roman! What’s up?” Patton asked, assuming that he was there for him, considering they were the only ones that had talked at that table.
