TW- Implied Suicide
It wasn't fair.
Gay marriage had been legalised in their kingdom, yet Prince Roman still wasn't free to love who he pleased. He couldn't marry the one he loved, simply because he was also a man.
He had fallen hopelessly in love with this man, this wonderful, beautiful, talented man, yet they couldn't be together. Because he must marry a woman. Because those are the rules and that's how it's always been.
The idea was, they needed the royal bloodline to continue. But royal blood is such a fake and idiotic social constuct. It was isane to him, and his partner, that someone w's blood was deemed royal just because someone said that they were. Yet they couldn't deem an adopted child royal. Because that would be so wrong.
Roman's parents tried to explain to him, but they always stumbled, never having a real, good, valid answer as to why he could only marry a woman.
And they honestly didn't care if he loved her or not, which just made this simpler for them. For them to arrange a marriage for him. With a beautiful, sweet princess, who probably didn't deserve to be set up with someone who could never love her, even if he tried.
The day the wedding came was the worst day of Roman's life, only holding onto the hope that his parents would see that this was all wrong, that he clearly didn't love her like that and she didn't love him.
But at the end of the day, the end of the week, the end of the month, the end of the year, the end of his life, they couldn't care less about what Roman thought or cared about. Or who he cared about.
When the great King Roman passed, he was still in the chains of this marriage that had grown to hurt him. Not the woman, no, she was lovely. But it hurt him knowing that he could never care about her the way that she deserved.
His love, his true love, had passed long before then sadly.
The day after his wedding day.
AN- I might/will probably write an alternate version, a longer version, a happier version. But I had this idea and I just rolled with it. Sorry that it's kind of trash, I wrote it in like less than 20 minutes.

Hayran KurguI filled up my first book... so now there's a second one. It's exactly what it sounds like, I don't know what you expected. I have a lot of ideas, but not enough to make full-length stories. Includes Logicality, Prinxiety and Remile.
