"Get the hell off my lawn before I pop you!" the man said, cocking his shotgun.

Jake jumped back, alarmed.

"I'm Jake, Elcie's my friend..." Jake said, rather worried.

The man put down his gun and let him in.

"Sorry, I thought you were a damn salesman."

Jake saw Elcie on the couch, face red from crying.

"I'm sorry Elcie, alright? I just came to ask you how you felt about this baby," Jake told her.

"I-I was afraid that I'd have to live with the baby without ever having him or her meet their father," she said as she sniffled.

Jake hugged her and told her, "I'll be there. I won't leave you, we can go through this together."

Elcie smiled. She was glad to be lucky enough to have Jake.

They cuddled on the couch for the night.

Sorry guys, I really don't feel like going through live birth, so I'm going to simply skip right past that. I won't make chapters this short again, I promise. -Jack
