Chapter 4

Alys POV

I was glad when Kyrie had asked me to lunch but I was kind of hoping he meant just as friends. I had a great boyfriend at Harvard that I wasn't ready to let go of. "So where are we planning on eating?" I questioned. "I know there is a Panera on campus. Are you okay with that?" "Sure!" The thought of their Mac and cheese filled my mind and I became very hungry. Then, all the sudden my stomach grumbled in front of him. "Are you a little hungry?" He said with a little laugh. "You have no idea." We both laughed. Before I knew it George shouted out, "Hey Kyrie. Woah new girl friend?" Then Kyrie looked at me... What was I supposed to say?

Kyries POV

I stared at her for a minute wondering how she felt about me. Before I had the chance to say something she blurted out, "Nope. Just friends." Then she turned around and headed for Panera. Oh great, the girl I sort of like just friend zoned me. "Ya, well we have to get to lunch. See ya." Then I ran up to Aly to catch up with her. "Sorry about that." "It's fine not the first time it's happened to me since I've came here." "Oh.. Huh..." I said while scratching my head. "Who else said that to you." "Oh you know just some drunk guy in the elevator." Thank the lord! I swear if other guys were already flirting with her I would have no chance! "Oh! There is Panera." Then I opened the door for her as she walked in. "What looks good?" She said. "Everything at the moment." We both laughed. Then she went up to order. "Wait! Lunch is on me." I said with a wink."

Alys POV

"Are you sure?" "Yea." How sweet was that? "Okay. I'll have a bowl of Mac and cheese with bread on the side." Then he stepped up to order. I stood there staring at him for a moment. He was a really nice guy and I liked him in a friend way. He turned and handed me a cup. We headed for the drink dispenser. "So are you pretty popular around here?" I asked. "I guess. Last year it became a little much for me and I asked for people to just treat me normally. I couldn't handle all the attention just yet." He seemed like such a cool guy. "Cool. So has your season started yet?" "Well we started practice about 4 weeks ago.. And our first game is in 3 weeks. Against Harvard." He said tilting his head and smiling at me. "I'll come and cheer on my new school for ya." "Good it's at home. So I don't want any Harvard BS. Got it?" Then we both laughed. That game is going to be so exciting! Kyle playing against Kyrie! Kyle is going to love it.

When we finished getting our drinks we sat down at a table near the window. "So did you like Harvard?" "I loved it personally. But you know how could I pass up a full scholarship?" "I hear what you saying. But don't worry you will love Duke even more. And if you aren't liking it let me know because then I will make sure you love it here." Then he winked. I smiled. Then the waiter came with our food.
