It was the summer right before my second year of high school. Everything seemed like it was going well, I hung out with my friends all day doing random things whether that was swimming in the lake or going into the city to shop. This was finally going to be my year. Nothing necessarily happened my first year of high school. It was more midocore, I always thought that high school was going to be great. People sing and dance but in reality it was stress inducing.

About two weeks into summer break things took a turn for the worst. After hanging out with my friends, I got home. Everything was silent, only the silent cries of both my mother and father. And for some reason my older sister who had been attending Tokyo University was there to welcome me at the door. Once I heard the news, I broke down. Grandma, Obasan she passed. That's not even all once my grandfather heard the news he committed sucide laying next to her corpse. He left a note saying that there was nothing left without his true love that he wanted nothing more but to join his beloved.

After the funeral, mom and dad decided it would better if we moved for my sake. We had become the talk of our little town, everytime we would go to the store people would whisper and point at us. Even my own friends began talking soon leading to our separation. The weeks leading up to the move I picked up learning the Piano. It was something that me and my grandma used to do when I was younger. My sister had already went back to Tokyo and my parents also asked for transfers from their jobs. My mother is a chef while my father is a police officer. My father was transferred to a different prefectural police department while my mom was able to get a job at a restaurant near his office. They would both be living in Tokyo Mondays-Fridays and would be going back to Hyogo where they would be moving every weekend.

As for me, I miss my grandparents everyday. But the more I play the piano it feels like they're there. I can feel their warm smiles and their love with every note I play.
