Besides the fact that the English teacher was annoying, to say the least, the rest of the day was pretty good. Maybe even one of the best she'd ever had so far in Inarizaki high. During volleyball practice, she finally met the coaches as they discussed the expectations that she needed to meet and their goals for the year. Overall both Coach Tora and Coach Norimune were patient when (Y/N) made a slight mistake during practice.
The first years of the team seemed motivated as well. Not only was there a cute girl helping them with volleyball but she was also cheering for them saying each of their names specifically even though they never introduced themselves. Sure they love volleyball and their talents were decent for a high schooler sometimes their skill gets overlooked due to all the other powerful players on their team. So when she praised them highlighting what they were doing great, it seemed to fuel them even more as they ran faster, spiked harder, and received better than before.
The practice seemed to go by quicker because now here they were walking home. The third years went one way along with the first years leaving only the second years minus Gin who had to go get something from the market for his mother. The sun had been setting on the horizon for a couple of minutes now lighting up the sky with different shades and hues. Surprisingly it was quiet, the total opposite of how it was this morning with Atsumu talking non-stop.
(Y/N) didn't say much either considering the fact that all she wanted to do now was be home and lay on her bed. 'Who knew managing a volleyball team was so hard?' She thought.
The view of both the (L/N) house and the Miya house could be seen from where they were making the (H/C) haired girl giddy and excited to go home with a small smile painted on her face.
Yes, she has been making a step into overcoming her past personal conflicts but interacting with so many people could be draining. She was happy with the fact that she even brought down her walls and let others in. 'For that,' She thought, 'I deserve a nice prize, oh maybe some mochi I have in the fridge. Hopefully, dad didn't eat it.'
"I'm home." She said when she entered through the front door. As soon as she entered she was hit with the familiar smell of (F/F).
"Welcome home honey." Her mother greeted her back from the kitchen with her sweet voice. This reminds her of all the times she would come home after playing with random kids that she found on the playground that day. Usually coming home muddy or with a couple of scabies. Her mother would scold her many times about safety or because she brought mud into the house by accident.
Today was one of those days that was surprisingly good even though it was filled with the simplest things someone could do.
I guess you can say she's a sucker for simplicity. No high expectation to uphold, no getting disappointed by a person's action, just something you can control because she made them simple. She didn't have to rack her brain 50 million times just to make sense of the things in front of her. It was easy to understand, with no cryptic messages, no hidden meanings, and definitely no hidden agenda. And for the first time in a very long time, she was content.
But don't get it confused, she was not a minimalist, I mean look at her room. Even though she didn't have space she still stuffed a whole piano, a mirror, a dresser, the things she had meant something to her even if they seemed simple.
None of this makes sense but this is life nothing makes sense, not to her or her mother, not even the person who's controlling this wacky world. For once in a really long time, she was excited to see another day even if it meant waking up early.
"Oh, fu-''
Sorry for such a short chapter.
