✩✩✶✧ 𝟙𝕤𝕥 ℙ𝕖𝕣𝕤𝕠𝕟 ℙ𝕆𝕍 ✧✶✩✩"Wake up (Y/N)." A voice called causing me to open my eyes. We were here in the house I'll be calling home for the next two years or so. I looked over to my mother who was in the passenger seat while my father was outside. She greeted me with a gentle smile. I could tell that this move was affecting her but she was trying to remain strong for me. So I did the same for her, I sent a warm smile back.
"Thanks for waking me momma." I said, still smiling.
"Come on let's go help your father." She said unbuckling her seat belt and getting out of the car. I did the same. The house in front of me looked similar to my old home. The nameplate had already been changed from whatever the last family had it to (L/N). It was officially where I'd be staying mostly alone.
I took a couple of boxes from the trunk, the moving truck had brought most of our things in last week. The only things that were left were the boxes that we had left behind in the old house. Walking into the house I was met with white walls with some wooden pillars. There were some photos on the wall, guessing dad put them up last week when he came down with the truck. There was one of me when I was 5, one picture of my sister in her high school entrance ceremony. Next to that one was my photo of my high school entrance ceremony. And then a door leading into the living room where mom had set up a shrine.
Finally going up the stairs I was met with a door that had a label "(Y/N)'s". Opening the door, I was surprised at how spacious it was. My parents had given me the larger room in order for me to fit my piano in it but also because I would be spending the most time in the house so why not. The walls were white like the rest of the house. My bed was on the wall perpendicular to the wall where the door was. Meaning that once you opened the door and walked in you were met with the foot of the bed. My piano had been placed in front of the window that was on a wall opposite from the door. And in front of the bed was the dresser with the bathroom and desk being on the same wall as the door but only a couple feet away.
The mattress was bare, the room dimly lit and a slightly stuffy atmosphere. Turning on the lights and setting the boxes in my hands down on the ground. Walking over to my piano I fiddled with some of the keys making sure that everything sounded right. Then I proceeded to open the window blind. The blind was one of those black out ones that didn't let the natural light in. I used to love having a dark room but ever since Obasan and Sofu passed I hated it. Now I thrive in the light. The warmth keeps me safe while the dark keeps me cold.
Opening the blinds I was met with the neighbors window. I could clearly see into the room, a bunk bed to the right of the window, a sofa near the window with a tv in front of it, and a dresser holding the tv up. There were two people on the sofa playing some sort of video game on the tv and another person sitting on the floor next to the bed. I paid no mind and continued opening the window. Finally some fresh air had been brought into the room along with some natural light.
I began working on my room. Putting up my own shrine for my grandparents and making my bed with the new bedspread. I put some of my plants on a tray and set that on top of the piano and unrolled a rug that I had in my old room. I also had brought my mirror from my old room and placed it near my bed diagonally away from my room door. Finally I was done and just chilled in my room scrolling through tik tok. Mom and dad had gone out to get groceries while I was fixing my room.
"(Y/N), dear we're having dinner with the next door neighbors so get ready." Dad said putting away groceries in the fridge.
"Oh ok." I said helping mom put things away in the pantry.
After a while, when we were all done. We made our way to the next door neighbors. Mom said that they had children my age so I would make new friends. I don't really like socializing but if it makes my mom happy then that's all I want. The front door opened to a woman with brown shoulder length hair. She looked the same age as mom, she was really beautiful as she gave a genuine and warm smile.
