Chapter 16- Where & Why?

I panicked and searched everywhere in the large mansion. By the time I was done, I was ready to pass out. Connelly searched with me. Ruvik wasn't anywhere in his house.
"Dammit! Where could he have gone?!" I yelled in exasperation. Connelly sighed. "I have no idea."
My heart begin to ache. Ruvik just left without telling me where he went. Connelly walked back into his bedroom. "Hey, Jenni, come here." I ran to him. "What is it?" He handed me a small piece of paper with neat, cursive handwriting.

I'll be back tomorrow. Take care of Jen. Please.

My heart throbbed. Why would he leave? Where did he go? I looked at Connelly with tears obscuring my vision.
"Why would he do this? He knows that I worry." I sat on Connelly's bed. He plopped down right next to me. "He'll be back. I know he will." Connelly said, then kissed my forehead. I laid down with my arms hugging my knees. I rocked back and forth. I was overreacting. I sat up and cleared my throat while wiping away the many tears.
Suddenly, I heard a very loud and strange sound come from the foyer.
"Come on." I grabbed Connelly's hand and ran down the stairs.
"What... is... THAT?!"

I fainted. (of course)

(It messed the two chapters up, so chapter 17 came before this one, I don't know why. Anyway, that's the end of this book. Thank you for over 2,000 views. x)
