Chapter 5- The Reason Why

I was suddenly teleported to another room, Connelly no longer at my side. It was Ruvik's bedroom again. "What?.." I stood up and saw that Ruvik was standing a few feet away. "What do you want?" He came closer to me and I could easily see that he had been crying. His eyes were red and his cheeks drenched. His voice still sounded the same as before, though. It didn't crack, nor was it shaky. "Would you like to know the reason why I killed my parents? The reason why I did all those experiments?" I nodded. "Of course. I'd love to hear your excuses." He stepped even closer to me so that I was up against the wall. "They are not excuses. Just listen, please." I gulped and nodded, scared that he was just going to suddenly kill me. "I was burned, almost to death, in my barn. My sister died in that fire. My sister was all that I had. My father despised me. He took advantage of our false closeness. He trapped me in the basement for weeks. I got out one day and my rage got out of hand. I grabbed the nearest knife and slit my parent's throats. I couldn't hold back anymore. The reason I did those experiments is because I've always been interested in the human brain. You know that. I'm sorry but it's just who I am." I suddenly felt a little bad about my earlier sudden outburst. "I remember hearing about that fire... I didn't care as much though because over time our relationship fell apart. But I never knew that your father locked you in the basement... That's cruel..." Ruvik nodded. "Do you understand now?" "Yes. But I'm still not going to be on your side. You're still a sick-minded freak to me and I'm not into that." He smirked and chuckled. "Heh... You're cute when you're in denial." I blushed and tried to push Ruvik away but failed. "I am not in denial." Ruvik smirked once again. "That further proves it." He put his lips close to my ear. "I know that you like me... Don't deny that." My knees shook and I bit my lip. "You're bad for me Ruvik... I'm sor--" He cut me off and pressed his rough lips against mine. I widened my eyes and blushed badly. I tried to stop him but I couldn't. I was just starting to like someone who was actually good for me (Connelly) and then Ruvik swoops in and tries to steal my heart... I don't know what to do.
