I woke up in an old-fashioned mansion. I was laying on a small bed. I stood up and looked around, beginning to explore. Suddenly, Ruvik manifested in front of me. I screamed and fell backwards. He teleported behind me and caught me. I blushed cherry red and stood up on my own. I didn't like relying on others. I liked to be independent. "What is this place? And why did you take me here?" Ruvik replied very monotonously. "This is what used to be my home. I took you here because the city was destroyed." I gasped. Then I realised something. "This place seems very familiar. Wait.." I left the bedroom and ran into the long hallway, then into a library. I looked around in awe. "I remember this place!" I ran to a much bigger, emptier room with only a couple small tables and some large paintings on the walls. Ruvik teleported to me again. "Why don't you just walk like a normal human being?" He smirked. "I'm not normal." I nodded. "That's true." I looked at the big painting in the center of the room. "That's you!" I pointed to what looked to be an innocent looking young boy. Ruvik growled quietly under his breath. "No, that is not me. At least, not anymore." I turned around to meet Ruvik's angry yet depressed gaze. "It all makes sense. Ruvik is Ruben Victoriano combined! What a genius idea!" He sighed. "Yeah, I guess."
Suddenly, déjà vu overtook me. I pictured myself and Ruben back in elementary school. We used to be the best of friends. His beautiful older sister, Laura, was the sweetest girl I had ever met. Ruben and I were always partners in school projects. He was always the best at the scientific ones. Especially any that had to do with the human anatomy. More specifically, the brain.
"Hey, you there?" Ruben.. I mean, Ruvik, spoke in an impatient tone. My old, and what I thought were expired, feelings rushed back to me.
I quickly slammed my lips onto his. His eyes widened, so I stopped and pulled away. "I'm sorry..." He replied with his adorable smirk. "I never said to stop." He pulled me close and placed his lips onto mine, and that was when I realised that Ruvik was all that I had left in this forsaken world.
