"Ahhh..." she sighed with relief, plopping down on one of the big beds. Breathlessly she found her beloved animals were already waiting for her, as expected. Sitting up slowly, she stoked one of the cats-- it's purring she thought sounded exactly like a Pygmy Puffs humming. She didn't know how in the world she knew that; as she had never laid eyes on a Pygmy Puff before-- at least, not until recently-- and that was not, if only just for a minute- or was it a second... Oh well, she thought; time had never ever been something she'd been able to grasp the concept of anyway, at least apart from the obvious that almost everybody knew about such as: a minute being equal to that of 60 seconds-- and other simple facts like that. Some complicated stuff, however, just simply went over her head. Such as long division, the multiplication times tables, telling time on a normal circular clock, along with many, many, many other things.
Although she had an excellent memory, it was understanding some stuff that sometimes became a real struggle. At an early age, even before moving to San Francisco, she was placed in an inclusion or resource-style math class.
