"Erm, thank you…?"
"Venti- it's Venti." The male grins.
The sudden kindness was like a punch in the gut as you didn't expect to have him as Diluc's superintendent. You thought of his boss as someone who could make even the coldest person, such as Diluc himself, to obey his orders. Not a young-looking person who seems innocent at a first glance.
A chuckle escapes the male's lips which makes you realize that you have been staring at him for quite some time. You felt a sudden surge of warmth within your cheeks while looking away to hide from the male's aqua green colored eyes.
Diluc clears his throat, "Barbatos. About the mission.."
The cheerful expression on the male's face then dropped as soon as he heard the word 'mission'. He slumped down back on his chair and let out a deep sigh, his attention going towards the redhead right next to you then going back at you.
With his change in gesture, the atmosphere became tense and you slowly backed away from the two men.
"Unfortunately, I am in no place to tell you everything that has happened and the events that have lead you here" Venti shakes his head, "The best thing I could only offer is this temporary sanctuary where I can assure your safety"
"Diluc, I entrust you (Y/n)'s safety" Venti gives the redhead a firm nod before looking in your direction, a serious yet gentle gaze resting on his face. "Don't be afraid to reach out if something is unfit to your tastes, alright? Holler if you need anything"
You quickly gave him a nod, might as well wait for the so-called Morax to give you the answers to your burning questions. It seems that the building itself is quite sturdy and safe just from being in here so you have no problem fitting in. However, you still feel a little homesick since this is your first time being far away from home- or even being apart from your mother.
The foreign feeling gives you a little kick of anxiety spiraling within yourself upon remembering the ghastly sight of the place you once called home.
